Surrogate EFT eliminates smoking addiction

Hi Everyone,

Jagjeet Singh Ahluwalia from Canada helps his friend give up cigarettes by using intentional (surrogate) EFT. Please note that it often takes more than one EFT session to clear away all the emotional debris underlying the need to smoke. Sometimes, as in this case, the process unfolds quite cleanly and the habitual need vanishes rapidly.

Hugs, Gary

Hi Gary,

I wanted to share another wonder that I saw working with EFT.

I have a team member Ashwani who joined me from India in Montreal, Canada. Ashwani has been smoking for around 5 years and used to smoke around 10 cigarettes every day. He brought some cigarette stock from India for himself. However during one of our conversations he showed a willingness to drop this addiction. He had of course been introduced to EFT earlier being a part of my team :-) and had used EFT but very rarely I would say.

So when he showed his willingness to drop smoking I told him that EFT could be of some help on this. He seemed open to the idea and decided that as soon as he ends his stock of cigarettes from India, he would drop smoking. So last weekend this happened and then the next day when we were in the office he informed me that he hasn't been smoking for a day. Later in the day we were having a walk after lunch and got around to talking about smoking. I asked him how does it feel. He said that he is very angry, irritated does not feel like talking to anyone. So as soon as this conversation came upon my radar I started intentional (surrogate) tapping. And I kept on talking to him.

What is your feeling? Are you ready to explode or what?. He said yes that is what I feel.

Do you have this craving to smoke. He said Yes I want to smoke...and I just keep thinking about it.

You don't feel like communicating to anyone - yes. So i just kept on with intentional tapping talking to him.

Then I took the conversation around to how did he start smoking. He described how it had all started that he had no such intention, how one of his friends got him into it - actually taught him to do it - how he liked the feeling of smoke and taste going down to the lungs and inside of the body and then how he got hooked to the taste. tap tap tap......intentional tapping during all of this talk.

I also asked him for anything emotionally that could have been going on with him at that time but he could not recollect anything. Then I asked him that what he should do is write down all that we have been discussing and then tap on it one by one. I asked him if he still has that feeling of anger and irritation there. He said it has been coming and going. This showed me that something was moving already.

I suddenly had an Aha! moment, the words came to me and I told him he should also tap on "Even though I have these withdrawal symptoms..." Then he writes it down and taps and I kept on with intentional tapping. I also went ahead and told him to tap on "Even though my system has this pattern and need to smoke which is stored somewhere...."

So we ended our talk and the intentional tapping session. When we were leaving the office I asked him not to forget writing down and tapping.

Next day - I asked Ashwani if he wrote and tapped. He actually sounded pretty happy and upbeat as compared to the previous day. He informed me that he did write down a few things but did not need to tap. In fact he was not having any cravings, even when the roommate that he is staying with was smoking right there with him. He says that need/craving is gone from within and he has not felt the anger and irritation since yesterday. I told him about intentional tapping and he said oh yeah! I really do not know how much he believed in it but he was thankful. So thanks once again to EFT.

Best Regards,

Jagjeet Singh Ahluwalia

PS: I wrote this email but held on to it to be sure so three weeks later I followed up with Ashwani. He does not have any desire to smoke and he also informed me that he had made a few earlier attempts to drop smoking but in the few days that he had stopped in between it was very difficult and all he could think of was cigarettes and of course he had always come back to it. But this time it was different as the desire is not there anymore and he has been staying with someone who smokes so the motivation to smoke is still there with all the smoke and cigarette smell all around him. He has in fact downloaded and gone through the EFT manual and on his way to starting with tapping on other things - he is hooked to EFT now :-).
