Featured Article #1: The connection between vitiligo and a traumatic experience: Vitiligo is a chronic skin condition that causes loss of pigment, resulting in irregular pale patches of skin. The medical folks don't know the cause but it is thought to come about by a combination of auto-immune, genetic and environmental factors. Dave Abel from the UK gives us evidence that it can also have emotional causes. Email Dave and Visit his website
Featured Article #2: EFT and humor to develop golf confidence: Coach Stephen Ladd combines EFT with some outrageous humor to help his young golfing client get beyond feeling like a loser. This is a classy approach that is useful for many issues. Email Stephen and Visit his website
Featured Article #3: Using EFT to reduce our judgment of others: Note how Kiran Zehra Haider takes a spiritual approach when using EFT for this issue. Kiran says, "But now, instead of seeing it in myself, I usually observe the [objectionable] behavior in others and it triggers an uncomfortable feeling inside me. That's how I know that even though I may not be doing it overtly, it is still something I need to work on. So, instead of being critical or judgmental about that other person doing this thing I find so rude, I tap on myself instead." Email Kiran
Featured Article #4: Letting intuition flow with EFT: People watch me on our DVDs as I come up with intuitive approaches and mistakenly conclude that I have some magical intuitive ability. Not so. We all tune in to the same intuitive Source. I am just willing to use it more than most. Note how Jenny Haynes gets herself out of the way and lets guidance appear. She says, "I love how this stuff works when you just let the guidance come in!" Email Jenny and Visit her website
Tips from the EFT Website
- Persistence, Hemorrhoids & Uncle Bugs.: In this case, "Henry" was in excruciating pain, and the cause appeared quite physical, but the intensity wasn't changing much. Newcomers to EFT often give up here. They try a few times, figure it "isn't working" and close the session thinking that is the best they can do. This is usually a mistake because relief is frequently achievable with EFT even when logic tells you otherwise. Just keep at it. Come at it from different angles. Eventually, even the seemingly impossible often happens. Once you make progress a few times using persistence, you will consider it a trusted friend.
- Carpal Tunnel Article.: Thanks to Mary Kuriger for writing this article on Carpal Tunnel, and having it published in Alternatives magazine. She spent 8 years trying to find relief from the chronic pain of her carpal tunnel syndrome. Trying to avoid surgery, she discovered EFT, and as she puts it, "After being guided through a tapping sequence for about 10 minutes, I had absolutely no pain! ... I kept mentally searching throughout my body for the pain. It just wasn't there!"
- What helped Lenny's sore throat?: Here is a quick session I had with "Lenny" who had tried EFT on himself and didn't get very far. He said he had a miserable case of the flu, so we started there and identified some of the blocks he encountered when applying EFT on his own.
- Taking relationship work to a new level--the odd couple: Here's a story about "Joe" and "Karen" who were very much like "The Odd Couple" wherein Karen was the neatnik and Joe was the sloppy one. It was clear that these differences were threatening the relationship. However, once we isolated the tappable issues, we EFT'ed them till neither party seemed to have a charge on them. I not only worked with each of them individually but they also faced one another in a loving way and tapped on each other while Joe repeated "betrayal" and Karen repeated "being ignored." Fun to watch. Nice connection.
- EFT enhances golf.: Here are several questions, case histories and testimonials regarding the use of EFT with golf.
- Personal EFT Marathon.: Virginia Sabedra offers this recent experience with a personal "EFT Marathon." She and her sister perform EFT for weight issues while driving for an hour and a half in a car. The tapping leads them from tail ender to tail ender on a journey that revealed many "behind the scenes" issues. To me, overweight is not a problem in and of itself. Rather, it is a symptom of other issues, many of them hidden. Personal EFT Marathons may be a great way to bring them out.
- Nikki LaMont on depression, pain and a water phobia.: Niki LaMont shares with us these EFT experiences. Among other things, these stories display the value of persistence. Very Important.
- Hospice care and EFT.: I received this interesting use of EFT from Arnie Mazo regarding a preoccupation with death and dying. What occurred to me was the widespread relief these procedures could provide in hospices where people are about to "transition." Wouldn't it be nice to ease the death experience and transform fear into peaceful acceptance or even cheerful curiosity?
