- Scary commercials: In this charming story, Sharon S. Henderson, Ph.D. uses EFT on her 7 year old grandson in regards to a commercial that would cause him to run out of the room. She demonstrates those all-important rapport skills and helped him recognize the underlying fear that he was trying to brush off.
- Using EFT over the phone: The ability to use EFT over the phone is an immense plus. We have touched on this a bit, but very few are actually doing it. Here is a discussion on some of its advantages, as well as some of its challenges.
- Test anxiety: After exercising on myself for a few weeks, today I treated a trainee who is going to take her exam as a counselor in a few weeks and who felt very anxious and self-destructive. The last time she did the exam she failed, and this was very traumatic for her. We went through the Basic Recipe a number of times and when she left, the anxiety was gone and she did not feel the stress of the coming exam any more ...
- Panic attacks and fear of darkness: In this article, Sam Smith shares two separate cases. In the first, he sneaks up on a teenage boy's panic attacks by addressing the related physical pains that were present at the time of the session. In the second, he gives the gift of sleep to a co-worker and her boyfriend by addressing an unreasonable fear of the dark.
- EFT and degenerative diseases: Degenerative diseases such as cancer, arthritis, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, etc. are among the most stubborn of our physical ailments. EFT may be of some help in this regard and the following question from an EFT user helps launch us into the subject.
- Medical school test anxiety--from C's and D's to A's and B's: Here is a report from "Paul" who was trying to get through medial school with a significant case of test anxiety. After watching the DVDs, he reports spectacular results. In his words, "I no longer ran out of time...instead, I finished 2-hour exams in 30-45 minutes...!And like I said, my grades shot way up."
- "Is everything poison?"...AND...fear of spiders: Deborah Chelette-Wilson shares two quick stories with us. One was a fairly standard spider phobia with great results, and the other, although also with great results, demonstrates the subtle power of EFT. No big deal. No bells and whistles. The problem just fades. Often it seems like there was never a problem in the first place. And if you weren't paying attention you might not have noticed that EFT made the difference.
- Breaking habits: Here is a useful article from Willem Lammers on breaking habits. As he describes, "Here is a format I use with addictive behaviors -especially smokers. It has also proved its value in a few clients with extremely severe asthma attacks and with bulimic clients. I worked it out for smokers but you may just replace "smoking" with "eating", "drinking" or any other (un)pleasant habit."
