Featured Article #3: The food allergy that wouldn't go away until Erin got specific: Here's a great lesson in being specific by Erin Parker. She says, "When I got deeper and more specific and uncovered the negative self judgment that I hold myself to, and the judgment that led me to overlook my health because I'm not worth taking care of, that's when I could feel my body taking care of itself. Awesome huh?" Email Renee (Erin's friend)

Tips from the EFT Website
- Allergic reaction to horses--swollen eyes: Here's a quick testimonial from Mary Smith who helped her son find the freedom to ride horses by using EFT to clear up his allergies.
- Tuning into the problem: Here is a fundamental question about why we say all those silly words while we tap. The answer includes a useful football analogy and could be seen as one of the differences between EFT and Acupuncture...tuning in to the problem.
- Relief for another stress related cough: Steve Wells writes from Australia with a "coughing case" for which no one else could bring relief. Steve had the client address stress related causes, but this was not a perfect case wherein a few rounds of tapping wipes out the problem forever. Does more work need to be done on underlying emotional issues? Perhaps.
- Fear of rain, thunder, lightning, bugs & dogs. Relief for cramps: Here are two quick stories from Marilyn Gordon. The first illustrates how quickly phobias can be released, especially with children, and in the second, she says, "I was thrilled to have a first aid kit in my fingertips."
- EFT and insights (cognitive change): Here is a newcomer who brings up an excellent point about clients gaining "insights" into their problem. Insights/cognitive changes happen with great regularity with EFT. You can hear them if you listen to how your clients speak about their problem before and after their session. The rape victim, for example, might start her session with"He's a beast!" and end the session with a healthier response of, "He needs help." Here is her letter, and my response.
- Surgery anxiety and EFT: Chris Hardisty details the use of EFT for surgery anxiety, and a very quick recovery. Although we deal with unresolved emotions most of the time, don't forget that balancing the energy system can pave the way for miraculous physical healing, which is always helpful around surgical procedures. Please note her comment at the end about tapping for her friend (surrogately).
- Sports anxiety, heat sensitivity, being away from home, loneliness, fear of insects: Here is a beautiful example from "Joanna" of how her son's life started to change dramatically by tapping away one anxiety at a time. She began by wanting to help her son play sports without the anxiety he was experiencing, then some social issues surfaced, and eventually, the tapping became a daily routine. The best news is that he's not even an adult yet and has already developed skills and confidence that some adults never find.
- Testing our work and personal radiation: Here is a thoughtful, well written letter from one of our members. The first part comments on discussions about testing our work and the sort of language that might be appropriate. Good points are made and worth our attention. The second part, however, touches on how licensed professionals must interface with their clients and contrasts their restrictions versus mine. I consider this a ripe subject and respond at the end with the idea of Personal Radiation.
- Eric Robins, MD and Lisa Cox on surgery anxieties: Lisa Cox describes an extreme "surgery anxiety" that she was instrumental in relieving through EFT on the day before the surgery. Interestingly, it held through the actual surgery without any new aspects coming up. This is a testimonial to Lisa's thoroughness with her client. As a result of her email, I phoned Eric Robins, MD, a surgeon with a Kaiser Hospital in Southern California, to get his comments on the anxieties people face before going into surgery, and have included those as well. Someday, maybe hospitals and surgeons will consider tapping prior to every surgery.
