Featured Article #1: Two examples where working on one issue provides relief for another: With two cases, Pankaj from India illustrates the "side benefits" that often occur with EFT. Be on the lookout for these delightful results because they happen often. Email Pankaj and Visit the website for the EFT tapping group in India
Featured Article #2: After tapping, Carol’s friend loses weight and her taste for wine: Sometimes people do just about everything right to shed those extra pounds and STILL don't drop a single ounce. When this happens there is usually a core emotional issue at play that can stop progress cold. Note how Carol Solomon addresses this problem with her client. She says, "What I find is that if you just start tapping in a general way, a core issue will often come up spontaneously. In Sally's case, she recalled having thoughts that it might not be ok with her daughter if she were thin. Sally was smaller than her adult daughter, and her daughter had expressed jealousy." Featured Article #3: Everyone gets to sleep after Dan does surrogate EFT for a crying child: Here's a very practical use of surrogate EFT by Dan O'Connell. Did the surrogate EFT actually do the job here, or was it just coincidence? Who knows for sure but we have so many reports like this that coincidence becomes much less likely. Note Dan's approaches to this problem. Email Dan
Featured Article #4: The bird fear that had an unusual aspect: Colleen Flanagan helps her mother with a 70 year old bird fear. However, it didn't go completely away until an unusual aspect of the fear showed up at the end. Notice how Colleen listens to her mother's words and uses creative ways of testing the result. - The Daisy Chain Opportunity: EFT often works so rapidly and efficiently that the client shifts, in a daisy chain fashion, from issue....to issue....to issue. It's as if each resolution of a problem reminds them of another problem, thereby leading us through a sizable list of healing opportunities. These are superb opportunities for dramatic healing because, in one session, multiple issues can be effectively neutralized. When you are on a roll, keep rolling!
- Does it matter whether or not the EFT practitioner is skeptical?: Sometimes. Let me explain. When I was first getting started with these procedures, just about everyone was skeptical. This included both the practitioners AND the clients. People rolled their eyes, made disparaging comments, talked behind your back, etc. Nonetheless, our results were still remarkable and clear progress was made even in the face of open skepticism. But that doesn't mean that the practitioner's degree of skepticism isn't a possible deterrent. Indeed, in challenging cases skepticism can be a real burden.
- AT 315 pounds, Tanya is a VERY big 12 year old.: The "art of delivery" is often discussed on this list. Indeed, it is what separates the wannabes from the Masters. Although it can take many sophisticated forms, sometimes this art is nothing more than persistently caring and "hangin' in there" with someone. When we do this, love takes over and the way to approach the problem just "shows up." I've seen this many times where the client seems impossible and then, after persistence, the right phrase appears ...
- Brandon's story--anger problem becomes history: Ann Adams shares with us this touching story of "Brandon", whose destructive temper tantrums were resolved by some good rapport and a few insightful rounds of tapping. It is ideal to share with parents and teachers that must deal with "unruly children." Special thanks to Shari Snow whose work made this story possible.
- Teaching kids to tap: Ann Adams is the Campus Director at a residential care facility for Severely Emotionally Disturbed children and, as such, has a challenging audience within which to deliver EFT. We can all learn from the story she provides below--even if we are applying EFT to adults. There are many lessons in both rapport and the "art of delivery" in this message. Please study it carefully.
- Water is dangerous!: Deborah Mitnick takes us on a delightful trip through the creative use of EFT on her 3 year old grandson's intense fear of water. Children respond very well to EFT but rapport in applying it is often a challenge. Deborah's rapport skills, together with the treating of many aspects, make this case an important one to study.
- "Afraid of Being Drowned": Deborah Mitnick follows up on her recent "WATER IS DANGEROUS" article with another water phobia case. In this one she emphasizes the value of having the client tell the story while tapping. This has the advantage of automatically "tuning in" the client to the issue--including all the details (aspects) as they ebb and flow within the story. Properly done, this approach can add thoroughness to your EFT sessions.
- Sept. 11, 2001 Trauma Treatment for Children.: This is now a few weeks after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the U.S. and, as expected, the repeated showing of the World Trade Center collapse on television has left its traumatic imprint on the psyches of citizens around the world. Children are particularly susceptible to this emotional insult and, unless we take steps to relieve it now, they will likely carry this burden the rest of their lives. Steve Wells from Australia saw these effects in his own children and takes us through his skillful use of EFT in their behalf. Those of us with children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. would do well to apply EFT immediately to these youngsters. Even if they are not showing outward signs of being traumatized, it is a good idea to apply EFT anyway. A little insurance may provide a lifetime of freedom.
- When a child cannot sleep in her own room: Here is an insightful message from Canadian EFT'er Dr. Alexander Lees that details the use of EFT on a child's multiple behavior problems. Alex is an expert in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and draws from that discipline to provide some useful language patterns. As this story unfolds you will find some creative reframes as well as impressive detective work in discovering an important core issue ...
