An optometrist points to emotional impacts on vision
Dr. Murray Rusk provides us with some useful emotional areas to explore for the improvement of our sight.
As a professional involved with quantum therapies I found EFT amazing. As an optometrist I would like to draw your attention to the aspect of "vision" and EFT.
You are quite right, Gary, when you say that some optometrists are not taught the emotional aspect of vision. Behavioral/functional/developmental optometrists are, however, taught the relationship.
It would be of interest to any EFT'er to get in touch with a Behavioral optometrist for further elucidation of how emotion and vision are related - let me say the relationship is very close. Below are some generalized examples that are, hopefully, useful for those wanting to get to core issues for sight upsets (notice I didn't use vision here. Sight is only a tiny part of vision and problems in sight, i.e. end organ upsets, the eyeballs, are the result of changes in vision due mostly to emotional problems.)
Core issues:- in general.
Someone who is far sighted is pushing the world away or distances themselves. So issues surrounding the need for space or reasons why they must push others away can be addressed. Paradoxically, they are finding a way to fit in and compare themselves to the outside world.
Those who are short sighted, generally, pull the world around them to protect them. They do not want to venture too far "out there". Issues around why would be of use.
Behaviorists state that a far sighted person will relate how "he" fits into the world the short sighted person relates the world to themselves.
Those with astigmatism have a confusion about the world, about themselves and how they fit.
Very succinctly, vision and emotion are one since all of vision (and consciousness for that matter- is based upon relationship, e.g. Me and it. Me is the figure. It is the ground -- and so on. Without this basic ability to relate, or differentiate me from it or figure from ground there would be no emotional relation of any kind and no consciousness - there is a lot more to vision than meets the eye!)
I'm sure many of the EFT'ers will be able to figure out how to probe these patients and hopefully this information will help them in determining core issues - remember these are generalities but at least a place to start.
