Hi Everyone,
Bring this one to the attention of your physicians. Note the persistence and skill of Frances Songhurst from the UK as she makes impressive progress with this seemingly impossible case. She notes this about her client's progress, "She telephoned me to say that she had been to see her orthopaedic specialist following another scan. He had been amazed to discover that contrary to his earlier diagnosis - just months before - the bone had started to fuse. His expectation had been that the soft tissue would still be healing but the bone would not be any different."
Hugs, Gary
Hi Gary,
I recently had some exciting feedback from a client I feel would be interesting to share. I met “Mary” a few months after she came out of hospital having been there for several months suffering from a rare bone infection and the subsequent pain from this. It was a deep-seated abscess, which caused a hole in the sacroiliac joint, which the specialist said was virtually irreparable.
She was supposed to continue with a large volume of painkillers and was due to see the specialist again in a few months time in order to decide on an operation that would fuse the bone back together. During the following six sessions she had with me over a period of 3+1/2 months we used EFT for pain reduction, increasing movement in her lower back, and for healing and fusing the bone back together.
The first session resulted in a reduction of pain from a 5 on a scale of 0 to 10 down to a possible 0 out of 10 – she thought she may be in pain but was so used to it she wasn’t sure. We tapped using specific wording she used in describing the pain – niggle, dull ache, a toothache kind of pain. This pain reduction lasted approximately 24 hours then returned the same as before.
The next session she told me she had done a little tapping on herself as instructed, and had relief when she did this but the morphine and other drugs that she was taking made her feel ‘dopey’ so she did not always remember or think about it.
This time I asked Mary to visualize using her imagination, what the pain looked like in terms of its shape, colour and texture. She told me it was like a black hole, an image on a TV screen, a moth eaten mess. We tapped using these words and the pain went from a 4 out of 10, down to a 3.5 out of 10. She reported ‘It’ felt less angry.
When asked what popped into her head when we were tapping, she thought of her family’s feelings about her illness, the fact that she would miss the hospital, the friends she had made there and the fact that it was a comfort zone. She felt worried as she would be away for a fortnight – would she be safe? We tapped on all these and the pain reduced to a 2. It was now a ‘niggle’ a ‘conscious memory’.
When asked to visualize again, it was a round shape, dark black, foggy and smooth. It said, ‘I’ve taken over’ and looked angry with eyes. We tapped on this and the realization that her doctor would have to let her go and not ‘mollycoddle’ her anymore. The pain was now under a 2 – she expected it to be there as it was so intense when she was very ill. After another round of tapping the image was softer, flattened out, grayer and sleeping. We tapped some more and it came down to a 1 out of 10 and still reducing.
During the next session we looked at her past, which included a history of pain in various forms – migraine, back pain etc. Mary related to me that the pain reduction from the last session lasted until the afternoon! I had a feeling this could be due to the fact she was so used to being in pain in some shape or form for most of her life. We tapped on the past pain and how it had affected her and around how it may still be affecting her now.
We then did some more visualization and she came up with thoughts of ‘I’m still here, don’t forget me’. It was an invasion, she was taken over, and had to fight back, find a strategy. More tapping made her realize it was a war, she had to bring in the ‘big guns’, fight back. The image was a grey /black, baking potato, malleable, it was relaxing, calm. Another round brought the shape becoming smaller and cowering. It was moaning and not happy! Subsequent rounds made it change even more, her pain going from the usual 5 down to about a 1 out of 10. Mary also came up with the feeling that she needed to take control of her life more.
The following two sessions were more of the same, however the last session we had I decided to use Gwyneth Moss’ ‘Imagineering’ technique. Mary imagined a glowing orangey light on the end of her finger that she managed to send into this ‘hole’ that was where the pain was. We sent this lovely healing light to this area several times and reduced the pain again down to a possible zero. We also did some work on her feeling in control, being embarrassed about being ill, the feeling of frustration and anger around the whole thing. We managed to reduce these feelings to a near zero for all of them but ran out of time to do any more.
Because of the holidays and moving house (and a slow and gradual reduction in the pain) I had no contact with Mary for several months, however I knew she was due to see the specialist anytime now so I was eager to hear the results.
She telephoned me to say that she had been to see her orthopaedic specialist following another scan. He had been amazed to discover that contrary to his earlier diagnosis - just months before - the bone had started to fuse. His expectation had been that the soft tissue would still be healing but the bone would not be any different.
I am still continuing to work with Mary, and hope to continue the work that we started.
Thank you so much Gary for sharing this wonderful healing tool!
Regards, Frances
