Hi Everyone,
AnaMaria Herrera uses EFT for a barrier to business success.
Hugs, Gary
One of my favorite movies is Casablanca. Ingrid Bergman and Bogart are both classy and cool, their clothes elegant, and the setting transports you to a different era.
I especially love the one-liners that made this movie famous. At the end of the movie the lieutenant charges the police officers to 'round up the usual suspects.' That line always makes me grin, as I imagine these cops combing the dark alleyways and underground spots searching for possible culprits.
Did you know that you also might have suspects lurking about? I am talking about the suspects that are your fears that are sabotaging you and holding you. One of the usual suspects that hold business owners back is none other than the fear of failure. This one is fairly obvious because, if you have had a business for any length of time, you have probably experienced falling on your rump from time to time!
Another is the fear of the opinion of others, this suspect can come cloaked in the "Who do you think you are?" disguise, which makes us shrink from really stepping out in bigger and bolder ways. But in working with other business owners, as well as in my own business, I discovered a few not-so-usual or known suspects. Here is one of the ring-leaders: Fear of being too successful.
Now you might be thinking, who wouldn't want to be very successful? Before you dismiss that this fear is lurking around in one of the alleyways of your mind, stop for a moment and ask one of the favorite revealing questions: What is the downside or possible drawback of you being successful or getting what you want? Take a minute or two with this one, wait and see what answer emerges. You might be surprised! Let me give you an example.
A recently retired man wanted to begin a coaching practice, but he was not making headway. He was not sure why he was not making progress as he really wanted it to start coaching others. When I asked him this question, "What is the downside of you having a successful coaching business?" he paused for a minute, then blurted, “Oh my gosh! I am afraid my wife will ask for a divorce, and that will be the end of my marriage!” He was stunned with the answer, but luckily we could neutralize this fear with EFT.
So here are some sample setups for using EFT to oust these suspects:
Even though I am really afraid to fail at my business…
Even though I will be mortified if I fail again, I accept my feelings and my fears.
Even though I am worried about what others think of me and my business, I am choosing to move ahead in my business anyway.
Even though there is a part of me that's afraid if I become TOO successful, that __________ (include the answer to the 'downside' question that I mention above here. So for example that could be: afraid to become overwhelmed, not have a private life, become unspiritual, never get married, etc.), I am choosing to remain calm and confident.
GC COMMENT: It would also be useful to use EFT on specific events from one's past that give rise to these fears.
ANAMARIA CONTINUES: With EFT you can round up all the suspects and get rid of them for good! And if you are trying out EFT for the first time, you might find yourself saying the same words reminiscent of what Bogie uttered to Louie the piano player in Casablanca. "I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship."
