What to do when time is short in your EFT session
Hi Everyone,
Rod Sherwin from Australia gives us this useful idea for leaving a client in a peaceful state. This is particularly helpful when time is running short and you aren't able to wrap up an important issue.
Hugs, Gary
I was doing some 40 minute sessions with new clients as a result of a gift certificate promotion. When I started working with a client, 'Mara', it was obvious that there were many complex issues going on to do with her marriage and unfaithfulness. I did my best to address several of the key events in her history but as I neared the end of the allocated time I knew I wouldn't be able to address every aspect of all the issues in the time we had left.
Since a big part of EFT's effectiveness is about self acceptance and self love, I come up with an idea to make sure Mara finished the session in a much better emotional state then when she started. Instead of using the usual "Even though I have this ...." format, I had Mara tap on each point and repeat the simple affirmation of "I accept myself, I respect myself and I love myself".
Initially she struggled to say the words and there were some tears, but after a couple of rounds she was able to say the words with a feeling of peace and a smile. These words can be hard to say for anyone who has serious issues so having her being able to repeats these words confidently and with a smile was a major breakthrough. She left the session in a state of peace even though there is still more work to do.
