Alzheimer's, "absent tapping," & other experiences
Hi Everyone,
Catherine O'Driscoll from Scotland uses surrogate tapping (she refers to it as "absent tapping" because it is done over a long distance) in behalf of her father who has Alzheimer's disease.
There are some people that cannot (or will not) tap for themselves and/or it is awkward or unrealistic for us to tap for them. In these cases, why not just tap surrogately (even at a long distance) and see what happens? This is what Catherine did.
We have a growing number of these types of successes reported on this list. I know these reports do not come with scientific sanctions and validation. But there are enough of them to merit our attention. Maybe someday this will be a routine way to help one another. Wouldn't that be nice?
Hugs, Gary
I'd like to tell you about some absent tapping I did. My father is in the hospital with Alzheimer's. He's been there quite a few months and, because he also has a heart condition, everyone is surprised he's still alive. He gets extremely distressed, angry, confused. The family believes he is frightened of passing over. Because I live in Scotland and he is in the south of England, I couldn't be with him to tap, so I used dowsing to connect with him mentally and work out what he would like to be tapped for.
I got . . . fear of dying, 'toilet trouble', inability to communicate. He also asked me to tap for my eldest sister who is very close to him, and very distressed by his condition. He also asked me, at the end, to pray for him. I phoned my sister the next day to ask her how he had been - I didn't mention the tapping. She told me that he had been very peaceful and quite lucid, talking about the fact that he was dying, and how she must let him go. (I've just had a thought, I wonder if I need to tap for my sister to help her to let him go?). I went to visit last weekend and everyone felt that he had been much more peaceful that week.
While visiting the family, I also tapped my niece who was being ignored by a member of the family. She went from a 10 to a zero. My brother in law had such a headache that he couldn't even bear to be tapped, so I started with Reiki and then tapped, and he went from a 10 to a zero. I tapped my nephew for a sore throat, and my stepmother for an emotional issue she didn't want to name. I also tapped my second sister for her insomnia and she had the worst night's sleep she has ever had! She is now so angry with me that I daren't phone her! However, she did mention circling thoughts worrying about my father, but she was so angry I couldn't help her deal with that. I guess some more absent tapping is in order. Again, using the pendulum, I feel I can ask her permission before going ahead.
I took your cassette tapes with me on the trip and was relieved to hear the information about the Apex condition.
Thanks for this technique. It's especially nice to be able to do something for my father, as this disease makes one feel so helpless.
