Down Syndrome and EFT
Hi Everyone,
People often ask me about the usefulness of EFT with those who might be mentally retarded or emotionally impaired. We have had many encouraging reports of success in this area, some of which are already on our web site. Below is a recent message to me from "John" regarding the voluntary use of EFT by his son.
Hugs, Gary
Hi Gary,
It's now been 2.5 weeks since I began the EFT course and began using EFT with myself and my patients. It's really been a lot of fun.
I want to share one little story with you. Last Saturday, I was looking at the videos with my sister-in-law. My 10 year old son, "David," who has Down Syndrome, was watching with us and tapping along with you and us. The next day I was driving, with the boys, out of the city to pick up my wife from a craniosacral therapy workshop. We stopped at one on the scenic lookouts above the Hudson and I noticed David tapping and asked him what he was tapping for. He said, "I'm tapping to not push George (his 6 year old brother) off the cliff." He had, on a previous occasion, given Jesse a shove, near the cliff top. Both his watching the video and applying EFT to himself occurred without any kind of prompting from me! Now, I have suggested that he use it to help himself control some undesirable behaviors at school.
I'm looking forward to speaking with you sometime soon.
Thanks for the flow of inspiring emails - I loved the frog story.
John
