I love working with children because they grasp the EFT concepts very easily and they get over their issues much quicker than adults. I have noticed that about 90% of my adult clients’ issues have their roots from childhood fears and traumas. Blessed are the children who are growing up with the gift of healing that EFT offers.
I was working on a client when his daughter came over and asked him if he would let me work on her pain. He said yes. She spoke in a much labored soft voice as she complained of pain in her throat at a level of intensity of 8 out of 10. The pain escalated to 10 out of 10 when it was touched. She complained of the inability to speak and feared that her voice would not come back again. She claimed a friend was throwing her a hard ball and hit her neck by accident. Her neck had a red spot on the Adam’s apple area. Her second complaint was pain in her left wrist at a level of intensity of 9 out of 10 due to a skateboard accident.
We tapped for the wrist issue first. Tapping her sore spot she whispered: Even though I have this wrist pain at a level 9, I am still an awesome kid and I choose for the pain to go away. Within 10 minutes the pain was down to 2 out of 10. Then I pressed the wrist gently and the pain rose to a 6 out of 10. We tapped while I held the wrist until the pain was 1 out of 10.
I decided to work on her throat. We worked on the fear which she rated as a 10.
Even though I’m very afraid that my throat will never get better…
Even though I am so scared that my voice will stay like this…
Even though every time I fell and hurt myself in the past, my body always healed, but this time I am afraid that my throat won’t heal.
After about 5 minutes of tapping, her fear dropped to 3 out of 10. I asked her if she was afraid that her hand would not heal. She laughed and said no. I explained that the muscles in her throat may be in spasm and restricting the air. We tapped:
Even though the muscles in my neck are in spasm, I choose to relax them now.
Even though I am frightened over this pain in my neck, I choose to be OK now.
Even though the muscles in my hand healed to a 1 out of 10, I choose for my neck muscles to heal also.
By this time she had an audience of three friends watching. As her voice returned stronger they all cheered her on. She claimed that her throat was not as painful but when I lightly touched her throat the pain increased. So we tapped some more on the muscles relaxing. Within a few minutes I was able to touch her throat without any pain and her voice was almost normal.
The entire treatment took only 40 minutes. I stopped by her home later that day to see how she was doing and found her chatting away to her mother. She was feeling great. What a joyous reward to see her smile and not have any fear. Boy! I love this work!
