Exam Details and Steps for Preparation

Each exam is based entirely on its respective Study Guide, so if you know all of that material, you will pass the exam. The Study Guides were developed to help you identify the most important material and will show you which material you can skip. They also offer some additional notes that will count as material for the exam.

Please be advised that the exam will only cover EFT as taught in the videos and the Study Guides. If you have already developed your own style or have borrowed tools from any other source, you will need to put those aside during this process. As you watch the videos, pay particular attention to any material that is different from your current knowledge, and be prepared to answer questions on the video and Study Guide material only.

Please note that all exams are automated, so you will be taking them online.

The EFT Foundational Level Exam contains three different sections coresponding to those in the EFT Foundational Library. You will need to take all three sections of the exam in the same sitting. Each section contains 25 multiple choice questions for a total of 75 questions, and you will have 2 hours to complete the exam.

The EFT Intermediate Level Exam will only cover one of the video sections in the EFT Intermediate Library, Borrowing Benefits, but will also cover ten Tutorials designed to complement these videos. The Intermediate Level Exam is presented in two sections with 40 multiple choice questions on the Tutorials and Borrowing Benefits Instructions in the first section, and 35 multiple choice questions on the Borrowing Benefits videos in the second. Both sections must be completed in the same sitting, and you will have 3 hours to complete the exam.

The EFT Honors Level Exam has not yet been released.

The questions are drawn randomly from a large pool of potential questions, so that no two exams will be identical. The questions have been ranked according to difficulty, and the random selection is programmed to be sure that the difficulty is consistent for each exam.

All exams are open book, and you are welcome to consult your notes and videos if you choose. However, your time is limited on each exam, so be as prepared as possible before you log in. In order to complete your exam on time, you will need to know the material from memory and understanding, so do not plan to rely completely on your notes. Have them available in case they can help you with a question or two, but you will not be able to complete the exam on time if you rely on them entirely.

Once you have purchased an exam, you will be given log in information which will be valid for 30 days. When you are ready to take the exam, just log in and your allotted time will begin. If you get disconnected from the site for any reason during your exam, you can simply sign back in and continue your exam. However, because this is an automated exam, the clock will keep running even if you are not connected, so it would be a good idea to have a backup computer and/or internet connection available during the exam.

All exams require Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher so if you usually use another browser, you may need to arrange for a different computer or new software. There have been errors on other browsers, so to be sure your exam is scored correctly, we require that you use Internet Explorer.

There will not be any refunds. If you have purchased an exam and your circumstances suddenly change, we can offer an extension so that you can take the exam at a later date.

You must score at least 85%, which is 64 correct answers, to pass any exam, and your score will be reported to you immediately upon completion. If you pass the exam, you will be directed to the terms, fees and other information for submitting your new listing on our website.

If you do not pass the exam, and missed fewer than 20 questions, you will be provided with a list of those questions and a source for the answer to each question. If you missed 20 questions or more you will provided with a summary of the video content that you need to study in more detail before you try again. Please note that no two exams will be the same, so the questions provided are simply for your reference.

If you do not pass the exam, you will get a second try without an additional payment. You must complete your second try within 30 days or you will forfeit the opportunity to try again for free. If you fail a second time, you must wait at least 6 months and pay the fee again before a third try will be allowed.

Each certification is valid for five years from the date of issue and will be subject to renewal at that point. To renew your certification, you will need to take an additional exam that will cover the most important concepts in the material related to your level of Certification, as well as any updates and changes that have been made to that material.

The purpose of the renewal process is to be sure that you are practicing EFT according to the official video instruction and passing EFT along to your clients in a consistent manner. EFT has been offered freely around the world for many years, and there are many different styles and variations of EFT that have been developed. Although we appreciate the creativity, we have found that the wide variety of EFT applications has been confusing to people who want a consistent education.

As a Certified EFT Practitioner, we expect that you will practice EFT according to the official video instruction, and pass along a consistent education to your clients. If you decide to incorporate an EFT variation that is not part of the official instruction, please be sure you can make the distinction and disclose it to your clients to avoid confusion. If you maintain that distinction through the term of your certification, you should be able to pass the renewal exam without much review. If you do not, you might need to study the videos again to pass the renewal exam.
