FAQ about EFT Certification
If I already have other Certifications, why would I want this one?
The demand for credentials came long before we were prepared to provide them. To satisfy the demand, individuals and organizations (including PACE Education) have stepped up and offered their own versions of credentials in EFT, but none of them were true certifications. The new EFT Certification Program will provide a true Certification. As a result, the others have been discontinued.
Is this a legal Certification?
Yes. With any level of EFT Certification, you are entitled to declare yourself a Certified EFT Practitioner, as long as you also display your current designation (EFTCert-I, EFTCert-II, or EFTCert-Honors). Please be advised that this is an Academic Certification that verifies your knowledge of the EFT material. It does not, however, certify the skills with which you deliver EFT. These skills (like rapport, finding core issues, and testing) vary widely among practitioners and do not lend themselves to objective evaluation. Further, this certification is not a license, and does not allow you to practice medicine or provide services not otherwise permitted by entities like your country, state, or any other licensing organization.
Will the EFT Certification allow me to practice EFT with clients?
EFT has been designed so that anyone can use it. However, there may be legal regulations or requirements in your state or country to deliver or charge for EFT sessions. You are advised to educate yourself on any such requirements before proceeding with a professional career as an EFT practitioner.
What initials can I put after my name?
With Foundational Level Certification, EFTCert-I
With Intermediate Level Certification, EFTCert-II
With Honors Level Certification, EFTCert-Honors
Will this Certification help me become an EFT Master?
The EFT Masters Program was discontinued by EFT and released to the EFT Masters as a group in 2007. They are now running it independently and making their own decisions about whether or not to certify any new EFT Masters. Although they have all earned their right to use the title, the program is no longer offered nor backed by EFT.
How will this Certification help my practice?
Being listed on the EFT website as a practitioner is probably the most powerful marketing tool you could employ to attract new clients. Emofree.com is the official source of EFT education and services all around the world, and we see thousands of prospective clients searching our listings every month to find an experienced EFT practitioner. Anyone with an emofree.com listing benefits from the greatest visibility available for EFT Practitioners, and this privilege is only available to those with EFT Certification (NOTE: other qualifications apply).
Are CEUs included with the Certification?
Not yet. We have been researching Continuing Education credits for years, but the process is very time consuming and we have not yet found a practical way to provide them.
I have already seen the videos several times and I have been practicing EFT for years...why do I have to go through this again?
Our goal is to develop consistency within the practice of EFT, so we need to evaluate everyone by the same tool. The EFT Certification is not an obligation, but rather an opportunity to refine your skills and help us redirect the spread of EFT. In fact, some experienced Practitioners have enjoyed getting back to the basics and have built an even stronger foundation for their work by going through this process. Please visit this link to read comments from practitioners.
Can I get the new EFT Certification by attending a workshop?
Nope. The only way to ensure consistency in EFT training is for everyone to study the same material. For this reason, we do not support exam prep workshops or studying in groups for the exam. The EFT videos were filmed during live workshops, and offer the same type of experience, except that you can pause and rewind as often as you want.
Should I get an experienced practitioner to help me prepare for the exam?
No. The goal of EFT Certification is to promote consistency, so you should get all of your answers from the video material and Study Guides. Although we realize that there are many helpful, knowledgeable practitioners out there, we have found that each person will interpret the material in their own way. Adding any additional interpretations to your studying process will most likely make the exam more difficult for you. Again, for this reason we do not support exam prep workshops or studying in groups for the exam.
What kind of documentation do you need to verify my years of experience and number of people to whom I have applied EFT?
It is your responsibility to keep those records, and we will rely on your integrity for their accuracy. Please keep in mind that as a Certified EFT Practitioner you will be publicly representing that you have obtained the proper experience and your clients will expect that from your sessions.
Does 100 people mean 100 different people or 100 sessions?
To take the Foundational Level exam, you need to have applied EFT to 100 people. The goal is to really apply your skills and to be sure you have enough experience to address the wide variety of clients that may be referred to you from our website. Many issues require more than one session, so rather than finding the 100 easiest, fastest sessions that you can, please recognize that it might take 200-300 sessions to meet the requirement for 100 people. If you are choosing EFT as a life goal, it will be best all around if you embrace the process rather than rushing it. On another note, 100 new clients in a year is about 2 new clients a week. In order to make a living as an EFT Practitioner, you will need to be seeing far more clients than that. The same theory applies to the 200 and 300 client requirements for the Intermediate and Honors Certifications, although we assume your professional practice will supply the people.
How will I find my first 100 people?
EFT was designed to be used by anyone, so once you are ready to practice your skills, try it with friends, family, co-workers, associates, or anyone else who is willing. You might also consider applying the Affirmation process (from Palace of Possibilities) to generate your practice clients, and then using EFT on your tail enders, your resistance, or both. It should go without saying that using the principles on the videos for yourself will only enhance your success as a practitioner.
When will my score be reported to me? What if I fail the exam the first time? When and how will my Certificate be mailed to me?
For the answers to these and all other practical questions about the exam, please see the sections entitled Exam Details and Steps for Preparation or EFT Certification Process.
