Hi Everyone,
Fears and phobias often vanish quickly with EFT ... even those that have been long standing. Sometimes, however, you have to come at them from a different angle before success is achieved. Andrew Robertson shares his personal circumstances in this regard and says, "...for me, just tapping on the phobia was not enough, I had to delve deeper and reach at the core fear behind the phobia."
Hugs, Gary
Hello Gary,
I have used EFT on myself only a few times, fearing it might not work for me. And also fearing that if it didn’t, I might lose faith in one of the few things I have had faith in at all. So I swallowed my fear and started using it on something I have been struggling with for quite some time.
A few years ago, a friend of mine suffered kidney stones and related the story to me in quite a lot of detail. The pain he endured was so much that he vomited non-stop. Not even morphine could alleviate the pain. I listened to this story and didn’t realize that I was absorbing all this emotion and pain. If I had known of EFT back then, I would have been tapping myself while he elaborated.
Since then I have had this absolute fear of getting kidney stones. I have even woken up in the middle of the night with a slight twinge in my back and feared it was my worst nightmare coming to fruition. It has haunted me to the point of anxiety. I have EFT'd myself on the phobia several times, with little or no relief. But it occurred to me last night to EFT myself on the pain and suffering my friend related to me. The fact that he was writhing on the floor, vomiting and screaming. The fact that it happened at a dinner party, it can happen anywhere, anytime. So I started with this:
Even though Gareth went through all this pain, vomiting and screaming, it happened at a dinner party, nothing would help the pain, not even morphine…
Even though he suffered all this and now, hearing and knowing all that has caused me to develop this fear and phobia of kidney stones…
I said that 3 times and then using all those key points in the setup, I tapped. I have only done it twice so far, but can’t even explain the relief I have experienced. In this case it isn’t just a sigh of relief, it’s a woohoo! The problem appears to have vanished.
I hope my short story can help anyone realize the importance of not taking other people’s emotions on, and how important it is to tap oneself while they relate something terrible. And also the fact that for me, just tapping on the phobia was not enough, I had to delve deeper and reach at the core fear behind the phobia.
Thank you,
Andrew Robertson
