Surrogate mental tapping achieves success for a height phobic in a balcony

Kirsten Erlenbruch from Germany found herself in a theater balcony with her height phobic mother. Listen in as she solves the problem by mentally tapping for her mother. Hi Gary,
My mother has had a very intense fear of heights as long as I can think back. Shortly before Christmas last year I bought tickets and invited her to a small Munich theater to listen to Christmas stories read by a famous Austrian actress. My mother was delighted. Not so anymore when we arrived at the theater and found out that we had tickets for the balcony on the first floor.
I hadn't paid any attention to where our seats were and only realized it when I heard my mother right behind me talking to herself. "Oh my god - not upstairs". To make things even worse the balcony did not have massive railings but only small steel ropes, so you see through it very easily. The minute we got there, my mother started sweating and breathing heavily. As we were early I tried to do some tapping on her, but she got hysteric and didn't want to be touched. Instead she sat down, grabbed my hand and started squeezing it.
When the lights were turned off and the Austrian actress started reading I started my surrogate tapping for my mother. As there were people sitting all around me and the room was not totally dark I did it mentally.
"Even though I have this intense fear of height, I deeply and completely accept myself."
"Even though I am attracted to the railings and I am afraid that I have to jump down there, I deeply and completely accept myself"
"Even though I think I can not sit here any longer, I deeply and completely accept myself"
These were my "key-sentences" and in my mind I mentally tapped on all the points. I had to concentrate very hard and therefore wasn't able to listen to the Christmas stories that were read to us on stage. But after about 20 minutes I realized that my mother wasn't squeezing my hand that hard anymore. After another 10 minutes she let go of my hand and when I looked over to her she was all calm and relaxed, breathing normally and not sweating at all.
After the reading was over and the lights went on again, I turned to my mother and asked her how she felt. "Oh, my fear of height wasn't that bad today after all". She was all relaxed and smiling at me. As she is not into any of the techniques I apply to my customers (she calls it "psychological nonsense) I didn't tell her what I had done for her. It had worked and that was enough for me.
I found it an absolutely amazing experience that not only does surrogate tapping work, it even works when you do it mentally.
