Hi Everyone,
Kay Alexandra from the UK woke up early one morning with a fierce pain in her chest and used EFT to dramatically reduce its impact. She concludes, "I am deeply impressed with the EFT system. It seems to be a marrying of East and West beliefs about the body and mind, the physical meridian system and the Freudian 'unconscious' and all the processes stemming from this." As always, physicians should be consulted where appropriate.
Hugs, Gary
Dear Gary,
I suffered repeated bouts of bronchitis during school and college until I was diagnosed with mild allergy asthma, controlled by an inhaler for many years. I then turned away from using conventional medicine and went the alternative medicine route, (Homeopathy, Bach Flower Remedies, Aromatherapy, Acupuncture) for a few years. After a couple of years I suffered a serious viral respiratory illness and bronchial pneumonia which took a few months to recover from, using antibiotics and healing.
Several years later, at menopause I contracted another serious viral respiratory illness which went to bronchial pneumonia and I was also diagnosed with low thyroid. For the last few years I have been on medications for both conditions trying to reduce my dependency on corticosteroid inhalers, very gradually over the last 2 years.
I have been working with EFT on myself in different areas for a couple of years. Recently I caught an infection, a raging sore throat with severe headache and aching limbs. I was off work to look after myself but the infection 'went to my chest' and I was diagnosed with the beginnings of bronchitis, but no asthma at this stage. I was given antibiotics by my doctor 'to hold' and to start taking if my condition worsened. The following is my journal entry that involves using EFT:
Rough night. Woke at 5. The fierce sharpness in my chest, in my central upper sternum. I felt anxious and fearful and I left the bed to do EFT tapping on the couch. In the milky light of the half moon and clouds and clear sky and stars I was crouched over in distress and pain as I sat on the couch and did the usual tapping routine Even though I feel anxious and angry at this recurring, familiar searing pain…
I 'went into the pain' and then remembered the EFT 'snoring video' where the woman said simply Even though I don't know why I snore… I tried this 'not knowing' with the searing pain I experienced, Even though I don't know why I feel this agonizing searing pain in my upper chest…
During this tapping I experienced searing pain in the centre of my chest and upper airways and then it was as if I was somewhere else in darkness and terror and my mind touched on my father's brother who was fatally wounded when his tank was blown up in the Yemen, dying later from the terrible wounds, when he was 20 years old in 1939 or 40. This image was somewhere in my consciousness as well as my own birth (15 years later), into darkness and screaming pain, coming out the 'wrong way round' from my mother and my first gasps of air were gasps of fluid, until they sucked my mouth free of it.
GC COMMENT: Note how EFT brought up 'specific events'. Even though these may have been imagined, they are useful tapping subjects.
High anxieties in my mother about the crumpled baby, with squashed face, surviving. There was a screaming terror from somewhere to here. I continued tapping through these images which seemed in a deep, dark, unfathomable place. I tapped:
Even though I don't know why I keep feeling this searing terrorising pain…
I experienced something that seemed to 'give' in my body, some sort of small release at the source of the upper chest pain. I returned to bed and felt some relief. I woke later and I experienced greater ease in my body, all over, and in my chest.
Now a few hours later, typing this, I still have some residue of tightness and pain but it is massively reduced from the night waking. On a scale of 0 - 10, I experience 3 now rather than the night time 9. I continue to hold the antibiotics as the bronchitis symptoms have not worsened.
I am deeply impressed with the EFT system. It seems to be a marrying of East and West beliefs about the body and mind, the physical meridian system and the Freudian 'unconscious' and all the processes stemming from this. The EFT process seems to enable somatised emotional blocks to be released by the joint power engines of both East and West systems, pushing those blocks from their bases, where they have been occupying the human being for millennia.
Thanks for all your work and your practitioners' work.
Best wishes
Kay
