Using EFT for Tone-Deafness

Here's another one for our "Try EFT on Everything" motto. How many people do you know who are told they are "tone deaf" or that they "can't sing?" Chances are, there's a melodic voice under those labels. Gratitude to Arden Compton for this article. Note that she uses muscle testing to help discern the core issue. This can also be done through appropriate questions.

A few years ago a sister-in-law approached me and asked I could help her 15 year old son with his singing problem; he was tone-deaf. I frankly told her that I did not know because no one had ever come with that question before. I am always up for a challenge, so we decided to give it a try.
We started out by having her play a few notes on the piano and see if he could sing those notes. She hit middle C a few times, but he was not able to get even close to hitting it, she tried a few other notes, but no matter what note she played his voice was way off.
So, we started tapping for "this tone deaf problem." We tried reframing the problem a few different ways; and then I muscle tested him to see if there was an event in his life that initiated this problem. What we determined was that there was an event at age two, where he was listening to his father sing, and he decided that for his father to love him, he needed to sing like his father; and his father was not singing well.
So, we tapped out for "this event" and "the belief that for father to love me I need to sing like father." Then we went back to the piano to see if there was any difference in his voice. Once again his mom hit middle C, but he was still off. She hit another note, and he didn't hit it, but his voice was moving around instead of just being way off. She hit a third note, and this time he started a little off, and his voice slid to the right note. She hit a different note, and again his voice slid to the right note. It was a dramatic improvement.
A few days later he tried out for a play with a singing part, and he made it! I heard him sing a few months later at a family reunion; someone brought a karaoke setup, and people were taking turns singing along to different songs. When it came his turn I was stunned as I listened to him sing along with a very nice voice.
