Criminal defense attorney does EFT with suicidal client in jail

Hi Everyone,

Here's a classic case of using EFT to soften the sting of heavy guilt. Seasoned EFT'er (and attorney) Ted Robinson describes this process with a suicidal man.

Hugs, Gary

By Ted Robinson

Hi Gary,

I've been a criminal defense attorney for over 32 years and have been using EFT for about 9 years in my practice of law and in my healing practice.  I've had a number of occasions to use it in jails, the most serious of which was when I've had suicidal clients in jail.

One client was charged with murdering his wife of 40 years and he wanted to interview me before hiring me.  However, when I first met him in the interview room at jail, he was unable to describe what had happened … or anything else.  After trying to speak with him for almost a half hour, I decided to use EFT with him.

I started out with trying to get him to say, "Even though I can't talk about what happened without feeling totally guilty and suicidal, I love and accept myself nonetheless."  However, he couldn't or wouldn't speak at all, so I told him to just listen and do the tapping with me.

After a while, he was able to start to speak about the incident and we did some follow-up rounds having him do the talking as well.

I then had him repeat words to the effect of "I'm feeling so guilty" and "How could I have done this" and "It wasn't my fault, but I'm still guilty" etc.

Eventually, he was able to speak openly with me about the incident and describe it in detail without any suicidal emotions arising.  He no longer was suicidal or tongue tied about the incident.

Important note: While EFT has produced remarkable clinical results, it must still be considered to be in the experimental stage and thus practitioners and the public must take complete responsibility for their use of it. Further, Gary Craig is not a licensed health professional and offers EFT as an ordained minister and as a personal performance coach. Please consult qualified health practitioners regarding your use of EFT.
