Emotional underdevelopment
Stephen & His Pikachu
I have a son by the name of Stephen. He is extremely smart intellectually and for the past ten years, "stuck" in the emotional development of a 18 month old.
This stuckness means:
temper tantrums and uncontrollable fitsinability to see the world from anyone else's point of viewinability to understand own feelings - inability to control own feelingsinability to interact with others beyond a stimulus response setting
In practise, he had a difficult time wherever he went, and the older he became, the more at odds with society/schools around him, and the more unhappy because he just didn't understand what was going on.
He was dismissed from regular schooling, then from back up schooling, then from a school for behaviourally disturbed children - their delayed forms of reward and punishments simply didn't work for him. When a school for the mentally handicapped was suggested, I backed out and kept him at home instead. This is where he's been for the past 2 years and although it hasn't been easy, at least he was in a safe and supportive environment.
In the past three month, a change happened. Stephen asked for a stuffed toy to be bought for him and began to "take care of it". He carried it around and slowly, began to project into the toy (a yellow Pikachu for those who know what that is). At first, it was only small things such as sitting Pikachu by the side of his plate and giving it some food.
Then, it expanded and about a week ago, Stephen said the following words, "Oh no! I've left Pikachu upstairs! He must be so scared, all alone in the dark, thinking I don't love him anymore and I've forgotten him!"
Now I guess for most people reading this, they probably go, "So what?"
For me, it was behavioural evidence that the "stuck state" had finally begun to shift and that Stephen was now moving on to the age in mind of a 2 1/2 to 3 year old, that whatever had been frozen was now thawing and we were on the way.
What had caused this to be?
I am convinced it was EFT proxy tapping. I cannot prove this. I have no scientific evidence to back it up. All I can say is that for nearly 11 years there was no progress at all no matter what we did, said, fed him and prayed for, and now there is a shift that promises a return to real balance and health to come.
This was not a miraculous "one tap and the dead rise" kind of event. I've tapped a lot over the last year, half hearted and without much hope to be perfectly honest. How can rubbing your chest and poking at your lower lip cure developmental autism in another? Don't get your hopes up. I admit it, that was my thinking.
But here we are. Stephen is presenting a well founded argument as to why Pikachu thinks it's important for Stephen to have a new computer game, third person. Stephen is beginning to understand the meaning of other people's emotions. Stephen made me a cup of coffee "Because it makes you happy, right?"
It's a miracle.
And the moral of the tale?
If you have something that is as important to you as this is for me, just tap anyway. Don't worry about your doubts and don't worry if the results are not instantly visible. Stuff happens at levels we can neither see, feel nor even comprehend. And it changes things.
And sometimes, you just have wait and see just how this change manifests in the end.
