Creator of WHH

The Whole Hearted Healing(tm) technique from the
INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY OF PEAK STATES.

Dear Colleagues:

Our thanks for this opportunity to share with you the exciting work that the Institute is doing. For the list, we want to describe our main technique for therapists we call Whole Hearted Healing (WHH). It has been in use for about the last five years by many therapists and many thousands of clients across the country, and we are delighted to see more people using it every day. For detailed information and an outline of the technique, please see our new website at www.PeakStates.com (Up by Dec 1, 1999).

How would it benefit me as a therapist to know about this technique?

A very good reason to know WHH is that it can be used simultaneously with EFT or other meridian techniques, making them significantly faster, more efficient, and powerful. This is a feature that many of our EFT students really appreciate.

Even more importantly, WHH’s popularity is growing because therapists report that WHH can often get results where EFT or other meridian based therapies have not been effective. Unlike EFT, it is not affected by ‘energy toxins’ or psychological reversal and is permanent. Muscle testing is also not used. A typical issue is resolved in about 30-40 minutes including the teaching time.

WHH is especially valuable for clients with, for example, schizophrenia, spiritual emergency, or some medical conditions. The technique is also preferred by clients who want to understand what has been driving their painful issues.

Can I use Whole Hearted Healing on myself?

Yes. In fact, you can get instructions at our website at www.PeakStates.com and try it out.

What is the Whole Hearted Healing Technique (WHH)?

It is a regression technique that eliminates the core traumas that drive most of our emotional and physical difficulties in the present. No special preparation or states of consciousness are required, such as hypnosis. When done to completion, a client (or an individual working alone) comes in with an issue, and afterwards will feel a sense of calm, peace, and lightness about the issue, without any trace of the presenting emotional problem. In this, it acts much like EFT.

Is Whole Hearted Healing derived from TFT or TAT?

No. In fact, WHH is not derived from TFT, TAT, TIR, NLP, EMDR or any other energy or “power” therapy. WHH does not use meridians, muscle testing, or other energy techniques either. Instead, we utilize a basic and unique insight on how the out-of-body experience occurs and how it is related to trauma. WHH is supported by other techniques we teach which work with understanding how the ego/personality is constructed and how to heal it.

Does Whole Hearted Healing replace EFT or other power therapies?

No. We feel there is no substitute for EFT or TAT or other powerful therapies in the standard therapist tool kit. Of course, every therapy has an area that it is the treatment of choice and an area that it isn’t, which is true of WHH also. Our method is especially useful in cases where other methods are having no success, the area of radical consciousness change, and some medical conditions. I estimate that the typical therapist we’ve trained uses WHH about 30% of the time.

Why else might I be interested in learning Whole Hearted Healing?

We know of no better technique for investigating spiritual, physical, and psychological issues in order to understand and heal them. And learning WHH is required at this time for our work in attaining permanent peak states of consciousness.

Are there any disadvantages in using this technique?

Yes. Although it can be taught in minutes, to be a fully competent therapist using it requires about a week of training. This is because an understanding of what can be found in the psyche and how to deal with it is required. It is also more physically and emotionally painful than EFT, although we teach techniques to ease and speed this problem. Additionally, we like to recommend that the therapist continues to stay with the client until they have healed, which sometimes is a problem in the standard 50 minute session.

Do I have to learn yet another new model of the psyche?

Yes. However, students learn the model by personal experience, not academically, and we teach it only because it is necessary in understanding how to heal certain conditions. It’s not like learning all those other models in school, thank goodness.

Our model of the human psyche is radically different from anything else that we know of in the field. It unifies spiritual, psychological and biological data, and we have created a number of techniques based on this understanding. The model not only allows us to predict phenomena to our knowledge never before discovered, but also to invent new techniques from our understanding of the underlying mechanisms. Essentially, with this model, we now view psychology more as if it were engineering, rather than an art.

We hope that other technique developers will pick up on our work in the future so that other therapy techniques will become even more effective.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY OF PEAK STATES (ISPS)

It is the goal of ISPS to see our clients and ourselves not only free of emotional and physical difficulties, but permanently experiencing life in a radically better way that most people cannot even imagine. Our logo states our objective: "Methods for Fundamental Change in the Human Psyche." We have made tremendous progress in discovering ways to bring people to peak states and maintain them there. For more information on what these states are and descriptions of methods, please visit our web site at www.PeakStates.com starting in late November, 1999 or attend our presentations at the Energy Psychology Conferences.

Who are we?

Director Grant McFetridge taught electrical engineering before becoming a healer. He brings his experience in modeling, problem solving, spiritual emergency, and radical physical healing. Associate Director Wes Gietz practices and teaches native living ways in Canada, and teaches leadership and interpersonal communication at the University of Victoria. He brings his knowledge and experience in shamanic healing techniques. Dr. Marie Green is working on medical applications and the training network. Dr. Deola Perry brings her personal and professional experience in these techniques, and heads the group of courageous volunteers who humorously call themselves the “lab rats”. Research Associate Kate Sorensen, whom many of you know from her work as founding Director of the TIR Association and an organizer of energy trainings and conferences, brings her extensive technical background and spiritual experience. We also acknowledge a growing group of other volunteers who have contributed.

We are actively looking for individuals who wish to join us in certain projects, (such as our project to eliminate schizophrenia in North America), or teach WHH, or teach how to move permanently into radically better states of consciousness.

Sincerely,

Grant McFetridge, grant@peakstates.com
