Common Sense & EFT
Because EFT is so often a symptom reliever, it is important to use common sense when tapping, especially when addressing physical issues and disease. Pain and distress can be a warning, and many symptoms are common to both ordinary problems and serious ones. Removing the symptom won’t usually guarantee to resolve the underlying disease process, even if this might seem to occur sometimes with EFT.
If you know your condition and have the support of a health professional, treatment will be a mutual effort, and your progress will be monitored. If you self-treat, and don’t know the cause of your symptom, then if it recurs, worsens, or fails to respond, find out what it is—by seeking a diagnosis from a health professional. This particularly applies to unwell children’s symptoms, no matter how vague.
The following symptoms in particular might be due to serious underlying problems needing medical treatment as well as EFT:
Headaches, depression, dental pain, abdominal pain, fever/(infection), chest pain and any eye symptoms. The last two are always worth checking out with a doctor because of the risk of heart and vision complications.
