What is an Athlete REALLY looking to improve?

Hi Everyone,

EFT Sports performance expert Stacey Vornbrock provides us with an illuminating article on the true progress that athletes most prefer.

Hugs, Gary

By Stacey Vornbrock, M.S.

Hi Gary,

I feel compelled to address some beliefs and hypotheses I’ve seen put forth about statistical results in using EFT with sports performance. I’ve been breaking new ground by taking EFT to professional athletes since 2003, and feel the need to share what I am discovering and it is very different from what some of the hypotheses have been. I think heading down the path of relating EFT to statistical performance results is unnecessarily setting up EFT practitioners to feel like they have failed.

I know because for at least the first two years I felt like I had failed my athletes because the statistical results that I thought I should see weren’t there. However, all my athletes were reporting great results and were very happy with their results and with what EFT had done for them. I was the one who wasn’t happy because I thought something else should be happening based on statistics. Let me clarify this.

There isn’t one professional or amateur athlete that has come to me wanting a statistical result of any kind. Not one athlete has come to increase his batting average, take a stroke or two off his game, kick further, throw further, etc. They have all come to me to have their blocks removed because they know that once those blocks are gone, they will absolutely perform at their highest level, whatever that is.

These are some of the issues they have come for: anxiety, loss of confidence, fear of re-injury, recovery from injuries, loss of range of motion, past performance trauma, mechanical challenges, fear and doubt, stress, relief from pain, lack of consistency, improve focus, improve mental discipline.

Here’s what one of my Olympic (discus/shot put) athletes said about EFT: “Tapping frees me to be a better athlete, tapping doesn’t make me a better athlete. There is a correlation between an athlete having a clear state of mind and tapping. Tapping frees me up to throw further and tapping frees me up to focus. Tapping has given me the possibility of reaching my full potential.”

EFT didn’t cause my college football kicker to kick his 46 and 47 yd. field goals. He could kick 60 yd. field goals in practice. EFT removed the blocks so he could do what he knows how to do in a game under pressure. This is true for all my guys. EFT simply removed the blocks in the way of them performing at their highest level, whatever that is. The highest level isn’t the same for every athlete. Not every athlete has the talent to win. Not every athlete has the talent to have a high batting average or set records in their sport.

There are two major areas that factor into an athlete’s statistical success. The first area has to do with all the issues mentioned above: injuries, anxiety, loss of confidence, etc. This is the area that I can absolutely have a big impact on and have had great success with in removing all those blocks.

The second area involves factors that also go into their statistical success that I can’t control. These include: their level of talent; their amount, commitment, and quality of practice; whether they continue to tap as needed; their nutrition (many athletes have very poor nutritional habits); competition conditions; weather; the defense they play against and the defensive level of talent. This second area that I can’t control plays a much larger factor in statistical results.

When we attach EFT to an athlete’s statistical results we are severely short-changing the power of EFT because when their stats go down (and they will fluctuate) it will look like EFT isn’t working anymore or that EFT failed them. What’s sad is that by continuing to focus on EFT and statistical results we miss the really big news about what EFT can do for athletes, and that is to remove all their blocks that keep them from performing at their highest level.

Here’s what I can report statistically about the athletes that I’ve worked with:

100% have eliminated or significantly reduced their anxiety so it is no longer an issue when they play their sport
100% report improved confidence
100% no longer have a fear of re-injury of the part of their body that was injured
100% have completed the healing of old injuries
100% have speeded up the healing of current injuries
100 % have increased their range of motion by at least 20%, often much    more (a 10% increase is considered outstanding)
100% have cleared up their past performance trauma
100% have made mechanical changes within minutes during a session
100% have released the doubt and fear about their performance issues
100% report relief from pain, in most cases the elimination of pain
100% have improved their consistency in their performance
100% have significantly improved their ability to focus while performing
100% have improved their mental discipline

This is HUGE news. There isn’t any other tool or technique out there that I’m aware of that can produce results like this. There isn’t anyone talking to athletes about clearing all these blocks for them because they can’t, only EFT can do that. The big news isn’t about EFT producing statistical results...the big news is that EFT removes the blocks that nothing else does.

In the world of golf, there are numerous clubs and pieces of equipment that promise to take strokes off your game. But no one is saying to these golfers “I can eliminate or significantly reduce your anxiety on the golf course. I can increase your range of motion so you are more fluid in your swing. I can clear out all those bad shots you’ve made in the past. I can help you make mechanical changes in your swing in minutes vs. years.”

In the world of baseball, there are coaches who will help players with their batting averages or ERAs. But no one is saying to these ball players “I can totally eliminate your fear of re-injury. I can help you manage your adrenaline on the field. I can help your body make a quick physical recovery after the game so you feel ready to play the next night. I can help you increase your focus at bat and see the ball come out of the pitcher’s hand.”

This is the really big news and these are the issues that athletes want help with. They aren’t identifying statistical results as the problem because they all know that once their blocks are removed, the statistics will take care of themselves.

Let’s start focusing on the real benefits of EFT and sports performance...that EFT can remove mental, emotional, physical, and mechanical blocks so that athletes can perform at their highest level possible, whatever that is based on their talent, commitment to practice, nutritional practices, competition conditions, weather, and the defense.

Best Regards to All,
