Sometimes it can be pretty difficult to accept that we have created certain circumstances in our lives, especially those that are considered negative and cause some sort of pain and suffering.  When you are struggling, overwhelmed, isolated, depressed, stressed and ‘beaten down’ by life’s seemingly unfair and unjust circumstances, it can be incredibly difficult to believe that there is a higher purpose lurking somewhere within that experience.

How can being abused as a child serve a higher purpose?  In grappling with these questions myself I developed the following EFT setup and tapping sequence to help me find meaning and purpose in certain life experiences and life "dramas".

If there is something or many things in your life you don’t understand the meaning or purpose of, and you are seeking answers or a more expanded awareness, then this exercise may help.  For this exercise, focus on an issue, event or circumstance in your life, past or present that you have difficulty accepting, understanding and/or letting go of.  There is much scope for healing and achieving personal peace when we understand the “bigger picture”.

Tapping Script for Unconditionally Accepting All Our Life Circumstances

EFT Set Up:

Even though I don’t want to accept things as they are, because they are not what I want them to be, I choose to love, forgive and accept ALL my experiences unconditionally, knowing that they are the way they are for a higher purpose or reason, which may not make sense to me right now, but on some level I know I have created these circumstances to show myself something I need to learn or remember about who I really am. 

I choose to bring forth into my conscious awareness this understanding and I fully accept and embrace things as they are. I choose to love, forgive and accept ALL my experiences unconditionally.

While tapping through the EFT points, repeat:

I don’t want to accept things as they are

It is difficult to accept things as they are

I don’t want things to be like this

This is NOT what I want

I can’t accept this

I can’t believe I would create this

I don’t want to accept this

I don’t want to accept this

 

What was I thinking to create this?

Ah maybe my thoughts had something to do with it!

What is this situation showing me?

What do I have to learn from this situation?

What do I need to know?

What if there is a higher purpose for all this?

What could I be trying to show myself?

What is the bigger picture?

 

I choose to embrace everything I have created

There is a "reason" for all this

I may not know what the reason is yet

But I choose to understand why

Even though it makes no sense right now

I choose to understand why

I choose to understand the meaning of this

I choose to embrace and accept everything I have created

One round of all the spots while repeating:

I choose to love, forgive and accept ALL my experiences unconditionally

Take a deep breath and review your situation and how you feel about it.  Write down any new insights or shifts in thinking.  Do you see the situation from a more expanded point of view?

You may experience “flashes of insight” over the next day or week, as I did after I used this tapping script.  This exercise helped me ‘see’ a bigger picture and make sense of my own personal circumstances.  It certainly helped me shift from a ’victim’ mode of perceiving my reality to embracing and accepting my life experiences with love and gratitude.
