EFT for feeling overly responsible

Now here's a widespread issue for which many of us could use relief. It's good to be a responsible person but, of course, too many of us overdo it. Note how Amy Babcock reduces this topic to specifics.
I've been a devoted EFT tapper for about 4 years now and follow your newsletter articles very carefully. Yesterday, I was inspired by an article about forgiveness. I injured my left arm about 6 months ago and have been working on healing it completely.
According to Louise Hay, pain usually means guilt, and guilt seeks punishment, so I tried tapping on anything I might feel guilty about, but none of it quite resonated with me until I introduced the idea of feeling responsible.
A part of me has always felt responsible for everything in my life, even when I was a little girl. This is when I began to feel the energy move. Tapping on my karate chop point...
Even though I feel responsible for injuring my arm, I choose to forgive myself for anything I've done to contribute to this.
I began to go through my life as I've done with The EFT Personal Peace Procedure identifying any trauma or problem in my childhood and adulthood that I might feel responsible for (just about everything!). I would tap on the karate chop point first, and if I didn't feel complete release right away, I would begin with a few points on the head and face, repeating the same phrase.
Even though I feel responsible for the painful encounter with my cat when he attacked me and gave me 3 stitches in my ear, I forgive myself for anything I've done to contribute to this.
Even though I feel responsible for my mother's breast cancer, I forgive myself for anything I've done to contribute to this.
Even though I feel responsible for my husband's hearing loss, forgive myself for anything I've done to contribute to this.
I imagine I'm not alone suffering feelings of responsibility for everything and I hope other people benefit from this idea of using EFT to let go of all the guilt, blame and punishment that we may inflict on ourselves subconsciously.
