Successful EFT without knowing the details

Important Note: This article was written prior to 2010 and is now outdated. Please use my newest advancement, Optimal EFT. It is more efficient, more powerful and clearly explained in my free e-book, The Unseen Therapist™.  Best wishes, Gary

Robyn Dear shows us how she helped a depression client get major relief without having to know any of the details of her circumstance. I've seen this approach work often but, for some people, more details are necessary. Nonetheless, this is a clear choice when the BIG ONE is very intense. Even if it doesn't relieve the problem totally, it serves as a useful way to "take the edge off", thus allowing a more detailed approach.

Here's a case to emphasize the following Helpful Hint that appeared on the EFT newsletter.

Today's Helpful Hint: Sometimes clients' issues are so private that not even a therapist is privileged to know about them. This is a real stumbling block with conventional techniques. However, with EFT, you can often get relief under these circumstances by applying EFT while the clients "run the movie" in the privacy of their own minds. Several trips through this process is likely to provide a high degree of emotional freedom.

My friend has struggled with depression ever since I have known her (5 years). I knew that she was sexually assaulted when she was 11 and my guess was that this was the underlying cause.

After learning EFT I now had a tool that I knew could help her. She avoided tackling "THE BIG ONE" until she was so desperate that she just had to (Having spent a month in the psych ward).

In two hours we ZEROED in on the big one without a tear shed. I still don't know any details and I don't want to or need to. She is a new woman. Here's the scenario....

We started with events in her parents house.

Then the house opposite (where it happened).

Then the room .

Then the act (no details) "Even though he made me do things I didn't understand...I didn't like.... I knew were wrong...."

We tapped on the musty smell that would trigger her memories

The last one, and KEY one, feeling tricked and therefore RESPONSIBLE!!!

This was her ticket to freedom. We were done.

Cheers, Robyn
