Hi Everyone,

Franklin Sluijters M.D. from the Netherlands, gives us an interesting look at EFT from a doctor's point of view.

Hugs, Gary

Dear Gary,

My first contact with EFT was in 1998 when I saw a demonstration by Marilyn Gordon at the Annual Convention of the National Guild of Hypnotists. I had no idea that this would have such an impact on both my personal and professional life. By that time I was still full in medical practice as a family doctor but I got so excited that I started tapping on a daily base with my patients on all kinds of emotional and physical issues.

As you say: Just try it on everything.

Two of the most amazing and rewarding experiences I had was with two boys - age 8 and 9 - who were sent by their mothers. The boys were not in the same school class and it was pure coincidence that I worked with these boys in almost the same month.

The mothers were very concerned about their sons behaviour and wellbeing: they were suffering from morning sickness (nausea), lost their appetite , had sleeping problems and didn't want to visit school because of a headache and besides they were tired all day. (These are all signs of a depression).

I asked each mother to send her son after finishing my regular morning consultations. What came up is that the boys were being bullied by several classmates -they appeared - so to say- to be the least in the pick order.

I started the Basic Recipe and used this sentence "Even though I feel bullied - I am a good boy " and for the second time " Even though I feel bullied by .....( name of clasmate) - I am a good boy ".
The whole consultations didn't last more than five minutes. The boys didn't have a clue what we were doing and left my room with astonishment.

I asked them to come back and see me next week and when I saw them again they had no idea of why they had to come back. Of course I checked with each mother afterwards and they both confirmed that their sons' behaviour had completely changed and that all the symptoms were gone. Which means that the whole picking order in the class must have changed because of some energy shift.

GC COMMENT: It is also possible that, after EFT, the boys no longer responded to the bullying and thus the bullies gave up because it was no longer fun for them.

This and many other wonderful experiences completely altered my way of thinking about communication and the way we process information. So in 2001 I decided to give up my medical practice after 30 years to go on with doing and promoting energy work- combining it with hypnotherapy if it is appropriate.

Gratefully,
Franklin Sluijters M.D. the Netherlands
