Hi Everyone,

Wouldn't it be nice if we could round up all the children of divorced parents and use EFT for those inevitable divorce related issues of grief, guilt, shame, anger, trauma, etc.? How much freer would this make the world? A thank you to Tina Marian for showing us what is possible with these issues.

Hugs, Gary

Hi Gary,

I've been using EFT for over 2 years now, and although I have had many successes, this one was particularly satisfying. It really attests not only to the power of EFT, but its efficiency and speed.

This started with me receiving the following email from my fourteen year old niece, "Caroline", whose parents recently divorced. This was not an easy divorce, and I always wondered how my two nieces would be affected in the process. The email read as follows:

"Hey Aunt Tina!  I was actually emailing you because I've not been doing too well. I think I'm somewhat depressed. And I'm not really sure about what.  I think for the most part it's my parents' divorce.  I don't know why it's bothering me so much. But I haven't gotten more than 4 hours of sleep for the last two weeks.

And I refuse to eat.  I'm so exhausted, but I cannot fall asleep.  It scares me because I don't want it to get serious.  And one time when I got in a fight with my mom I became hysterical, and got so frustrated with myself that I scratched myself hard enough to make it bleed.  I don't want this anymore.  I've been to counseling, but she isn't helping.  But I hope you can, because I trust you a lot."

We set up a phone session right away. We started by defining the "tabletop" as her emotional distress being manifested by inability to sleep, inability to eat, racing thoughts and crying. We then defined the "legs" to the table as her feelings of guilt for not being able to keep her parents together, her feelings of being betrayed by them, her incredible anger at them for breaking up the family, her terrible sadness for the loss, and her own feelings of not being "good enough".

Without going into detail regarding all the statements (many times when I am tapping, I don't even remember what I said!) we went to work, and addressed each "leg". When we got to fear, she immediately remembered a time when she was quite young, and would hide in the closet, covering her ears so she did not have to listen to her parents arguing, until her sister would come and tell her it was over. This brought on a lot of tears. We addressed the "Little Caroline" who was still very frightened, and tapped to assure her she was safe.

Our session lasted thirty-five minutes. Before we ended, she assured me that she felt enormous relief. I told her I would check in with her a few days.  Imagine how excited I was when I got the following email two days later:

"Hey Aunt Tina,  Everything has been great.  For the first time in 3 weeks, I fell asleep last night before 12:30.  I woke up with energy, and I was in a great mood.  I was so happy.  I focused on my breathing with my hand on my heart, and I fell right asleep.  I had no idea that I was able to do that.  I was like literally crying with tears of joy.  You really are such an angel, and I'm so happy that you were able to help. I wish I went to you sooner!!

I want to thank you so so much for everything, I knew I could count on you.  I hope to speak to you again soon.  I love and miss you! Caroline"

EFT never ceases to amaze me. Thank you Gary for bringing to the world such a powerful healing tool.
