Hi Everyone,

Read how Paul Zelizer's daughter recovered from a brain concussion much faster than expected. He says, "While we were told that she’d likely be in bed for 3-4 days, she was up and walking around that day.  She went to school the day after the incident (at her request) feeling about 92% recovered."

Hugs, Gary

Recently, my eight year old daughter suffered a bad concussion.  She was playing on the swings with her friends when she smacked her head on a wooden support.  Afterwards, she was so dizzy, disoriented and nauseous that the school sent her to the hospital.

After the doctors did a CAT scan and determined that there was no serious brain injury, we took her home.  She was still in pretty bad shape – she had a bad headache, problems with her balance, couldn’t hold down food, was restless and was having a hard time calming down.  My daughter and I regularly use EFT and other energy psychology tools, so I asked her if we could do some together.

At first we worked on the headache and restlessness.  It helped a little bit, but not much.  She was still very agitated and was having a hard time focusing.  I gave her some ibuprofen.  In about 20 minutes that started to work and she fell asleep.

After a long nap, she woke up much calmer.  I asked her if she wanted to try EFT again.  She did.  My intuition suggested that I explain to her that when you get a concussion, your brain “gets a little scrambled.”  I told her we were going to work on “descrambling her brain.”  This approached made sense to her.

We did several rounds of the 9 Gamut Technique and the Floor to Ceiling Eye Roll that day.  Each round I asked her to think about one of the symptoms she was experiencing like “the part of my brain that got scrambled”, her headache, her shaky balance, etc.

While we were told that she’d likely be in bed for 3-4 days, she was up and walking around that day.  She went to school the day after the incident (at her request) feeling about 92% recovered.  Over the four days after the concussion, we did about 12 sessions each lasting around 10 minutes.  Four days after the incident, she said she was running at 98%.  By the way, thanks to EFT and homeopathic arnica, she had very little swelling, her eyes did not get bruised like we thought and the egg on her forehead decreased dramatically.

About two weeks after the incident she still had a tender spot on her forehead.  My daughter says her balance isn’t quite 100%.  We’re planning on doing a session a little later today to work on these remaining symptoms.

As a parent, having EFT during this experience was a great gift.  I was able to actively participate in her healing and show her my love in this way.

Once again, I am deeply grateful for EFT and the wide variety of ways it can be used.
