Did 20 minutes of EFT straighten bones that had knitted improperly 50 years before?

Hi Everyone,

I have had many jaw-dropping EFT reports over the years but this one by Rebecca Snyder ranks near the top. She says, "Neither of us was prepared for what we saw.  Her knee had rotated almost completely forward, and her lower leg was perfectly straight!  We looked at each other with mouths agape, and she said, "Do you see what I think I see??"  I told her I saw a straight leg. Stunned, she said, "Yeah, that's what I see too!"  She then took a few steps, did a deep knee bend, raised the leg… and it stayed straight.  We both said, "That's impossible!".  Her x-rays showed that the knee had knit in that position, and she had been told that nothing, short of radical surgery, would straighten it out. Yet, after only 20 minutes of tapping, her leg was straight for the first time in over 50 years!"

Hugs, Gary

Dear Gary,

This is a case I've been wanting to tell you about for a long time.  After tapping on my procrastination tendencies (smile), I'm finally getting around to it.

A client of mine was fascinated by the idea of EFT, and asked me to help her resolve an issue with her tennis game.  Since we weren't able to meet at the tennis court, we worked in the salon, and addressed as many possible aspects as we could think of.  Of course, there was no way to test the results then and there.  She said she didn't feel any differently about the problem, but would see if it worked at her next lesson.

I really wanted her to have a positive, immediate result to take with her, so I asked if she had any aches or pains that we might address.  She said, "Oh, yeah..my hip is killing me!"  She had just come from physical therapy, and was quite sore from the work they had done there.

I asked what the problem was, and she rolled up her pant leg to reveal her knee and lower leg.

The knee was turned in so the kneecap was almost facing her other leg, and her lower leg was angled outwards about 25-30 degrees.  I was surprised, because she walked quite normally.

She said that she had fallen with a horse when she was 12, and the horse had landed on her leg, shattering her knee.  As she has aged (she's now in her 60's), compensating for the angled lower leg has caused hip and back problems. I asked if she wanted to try tapping for the hip soreness, and she agreed. When she was seated, I got a flash of intuition that told me we could certainly relieve the hip pain, but the "big dog" was the knee and the fall trauma.

We used the Tell the Story technique, tapping on:

  • feeling the horse going down
  • the pain of her knee shattering
  • anger at the "stupid doctors" that set her leg crooked
  • the six months in the cast
  • getting poison ivy under the cast (!)
  • learning to walk with the crooked knee going through high school (at a time when girls HAD to wear dresses to school) with a crooked leg
  • going to dances with her crooked leg
  • the frustration of the aging process

When we felt complete with covering all the possible aspects, I asked how her hip felt.  She replied, "Oh, it never hurts when I'm sitting down."  So I told her to stand up to see how we did.  When she extended her leg to stand up, I heard a series of about 6 soft "pops" in her knee, and thought to myself, "Good, there is some release of tension there".

Neither of us was prepared for what we saw.  Her knee had rotated almost completely forward, and her lower leg was perfectly straight!  We looked at each other with mouths agape, and she said, "Do you see what I think I see??"  I told her I saw a straight leg. Stunned, she said, "Yeah, that's what I see too!"

She then took a few steps, did a deep knee bend, raised the leg… and it stayed straight.  We both said, "That's impossible!".  Her x-rays showed that the knee had knit in that position, and she had been told that nothing, short of radical surgery, would straighten it out. Yet, after only 20 minutes of tapping, her leg was straight for the first time in over 50 years!

We were giddy with the results, and only as she was leaving did I think to ask about her hip pain.  She laughed and said it was gone, but that she was going to have to learn to walk all over again, because she was feeling unbalanced NOT having to compensate for the crooked leg.  We stopped right there, and tapped on the unbalanced feeling... one shortcut round, and she was fine..and giggling like a school girl.

The next time I saw her, I asked what her physical therapist thought of the change.  She sheepishly admitted that she hadn't been able to bring herself to tell him that the results were because of something she had done with her hairdresser, so he was convinced that the exercises he'd assigned her were miraculously responsible for the leg straightening.  She said, "I didn't want him to think I'm a complete crackpot! (Sigh) At any rate, her leg is still straight nearly a year later, and she is a dedicated EFT'er.

Thank you Gary, for this wonderful tool!

Love,

Rebecca Snyder
