Hi Everyone,

In this article, Dr. El March says, "David had been suffering from fear of financial difficulties for the past several years when he called me to see how we can work together to get the emotional blocks resolved."

Hello Gary,

Here is a recent experience that I feel it is worth sharing. David had been suffering from fear of financial difficulties for the past several years when he called me to see how we can work together to get the emotional blocks resolved.

After explaining the power of the deep beliefs, he wanted to get a combo session of Belief Update Therapy and EFT to resolve the emotional blocks.

El: Please close your eyes; take few deep breaths and imagine yourself in an auditorium. Stand at the podium as the speaker. Ask all your created parts to come in and join you in this auditorium. How does this make you feel?

David: Uncomfortable!

El: Why is that? Do you get nervous giving a public speech?

David: Yes!

El: What is your worst fear in this?

David: Who am I to lecture others? What qualifications do I have? Why would I want to embarrass myself?

El: OK. How do you feel talking in a family gathering?

David: Not good. My brother and sister have both graduated from University and have a career and a life.

El: and you?

David: well, I never graduated anything but high school and I am an Interior Design consultant.

El: are you good at what you do?

David: Oh yes. Absolutely. I mean there are high and low times in the market but I have been on my own two feet for a very long time.

El: on the scale of 0-10 how confident do you feel about standing at the podium in a speaker's position?

David: 2.

At this point we started the setup procedures and went through the whole EFT process:

Even though I cannot speak publicly and I am afraid that I am not qualified and not really an expert in anything and have never graduated from college or university...

Even though my brother and sister are a doctor and an engineer and I am just an interior designer...

Even though my family members look down on me for not having graduated I love myself for doing what I do and being who I am and the fact that I have been on my own two feet since I was very young and I have managed to buy a house and make a beautiful living environment for myself. I am ready to forgive everyone for their misperceptions and free them. They are free and I am free.

Once we were done with the EFT process, David's scale had gone up to 8 and we did a second round for the remainder of the emotions and the scale came up to feeling 10.

GC COMMENT: Another useful approach is to uncover some specific events underlying his fear. I find doing so can add depth and more lasting results.

From there on going through the regular parts therapy and belief update therapy question and answer session became a cinch as the most important issue of self-worth was resolved already through EFT in a really efficient manner.

I thank you daily for introducing such an awesome technique Gary. Without this, my sessions would be at least three times as long. I am sure my clients appreciate it too.

Best Regards,
Dr. El March
