Hi Everyone,

This important story by Jose Manuel Hoffman-Medina from Mexico shows how strikingly effective EFT can be for self image issues.

Hugs, Gary

By Jose Manuel Hoffman-Medina

Greetings from Aguascalientes, Mexico. I've been practicing EFT for several months and I also do other types of therapy in various healthcare centers.  The following case took place in a self-help group.

I'm a member of a self-help group for alcoholics, neurotics and drug addicts.  I've had the opportunity of using what I've learned with EFT and the results have been wonderful.  I want to tell you about one of several cases that have amazed me.

A friend who I will call "P" has a problem with alcoholism.  Although not very serious, it made him uncomfortable.  He also suffers from brain damage that makes it hard for him to concentrate.  As a result, his coworkers would tease and humiliate him.  They would invite him to drink with the sole purpose of making fun of him and to take advantage of his noble heart and have him clean up their mess or do their errands.  I discovered all this after doing EFT with him.

It is well known that alcoholism, and addictions in general, are caused by emotional blocks.  The problem I was having with "P" was that every time I asked him about his past or some event from his childhood, he'd say, "I don't remember".  You can imagine my frustration.  I did some tapping on myself to eliminate the frustration and let my intuition do the work.

In the EFT process, I asked a Superior Force (GOD) to use me as a channel.  Although I am frustrated, I let God work through me…  After two rounds it DAWNED on me!  "P" never looks you in the eye.  I decided to sit close to him and continually remind him, "Look at me" while I asked him about his childhood.  This seemed to work better, but I still had nothing to work with.  I then tapped on the obvious, his lack of concentration. I tapped on his points while he repeated, Although I'm nervous I love and accept myself totally and completely.

Eye brow - I can't concentrate

Side of eye - I'm afraid of looking you straight in the eye

Under eye - I don't want you to make fun of me (here he opened a door by nodding his head) Under nose - I'm not dumb - I'm afraid to speak

Collar bone - I don't know how to express myself

Under arm - People make fun of me

Top of head - Don't call me dumb

He then started crying and in his limited vocabulary he began to tell me about his childhood experiences.  I was astonished at the amount of humiliation he suffered because of the poverty he lived in and his physical handicap.  Thanks to this, we were able to do some tapping and, as usual, EFT was a hit!

After 2 months of weekly follow-ups, I can say that "P" no longer gets drunk, he doesn't let others humiliate him anymore, and his vocabulary and ability to communicate have improved.  But best of all, he now looks you in the eye when he speaks to you and he does so with great tenderness.

Thank you,

Jose Manuel Hoffman
