Asthma linked to stifled emotions

Hi Everyone,

It should be no surprise to seasoned EFT'ers that Asthma often has emotional causes. This is clearly displayed in Helen Vella's brief article. Hopefully, Asthma sufferers and their physicians will take note of this.

A client came to see me because she had asthma.  She was now in her thirties and had asthma since she was in college.  She was using her nebulizer daily, plus medication and inhaler.  When she came into my office she could hardly catch her breath.  Her first words to me were, “'I have so much to get off my chest I don't know where to start.  My lungs are so dark and only performing at 20%.”  I was amazed at how much I could now tap on with only 1 sentence.  We started tapping.

Even though I have so much on my chest…

Even though my lungs are only performing at 20%...

Her breathing improved enough for us to have a conversation without her fighting to breathe.  The core issue was that her grandfather, to whom she was so close, died when she was 6.  She could not understand why her mother and grandmother were not upset (her perception) she then grew up with the program that showing emotion was not done in her family.  Her asthma really started showing in college when she wanted to share with her mother the challenges of college and could not.  We tapped on her grief issues, and mother issues.

At the second session she advised me she had not taken any medication in the last week and only used her nebulizer 3 times and her inhaler once.  She recognized that every time she had a challenge in her daily life and was not expressing how she felt about it her breathing became restricted.  She would tap until her breathing became normal and then explain to the person how she felt about the situation.  Now she no longer uses her inhaler and has gone nearly 3 weeks without a nebulizer.

Her light bulb moment was when she realized that her emotions were affecting her physical body.  I deal with so many people with physical issues and it was great once again to have another person understand that the mind, body and spirit are connected.

I love EFT.
