Hi Everyone,

Note how easily Jasmine Bharathan (from India) helps this 9 year old skeptical girl get beyond a water fear. In this case, EFT was applied several times over a few days and each time further progress was made.

A client's 9 year old daughter had a fear of swimming in the pool.  After 4 days of hanging around near the pool and being teased for not getting in, she reluctantly agreed to do EFT with her mom (reluctantly because she thinks EFT is very silly!). She insisted on doing only the short cut tapping version.  She did two rounds of:

Even though I have this fear of water and am afraid I will drown, I choose to completely, deeply and lovingly support and accept myself (this part is her own affirmation and she was very particular about the order and also insisted on singing it!).

Three days later, she came closer to the pool with not enough courage to step in.  She did two more rounds of the same statements.  Three days later, she got into the shallow side of the pool and seemed to enjoy herself.  She did two more rounds of the same statements.  Then four days later, she has been swimming from one end to the other end (25 feet depth) and refused to step out of the water!  (This was similar to Dave' in the EFT Course DVD).  She says "I can't believe that in 10 days I have been able to do this!"  She still thinks EFT is silly!

Observations:

  • There were no specific events that were tapped on.  It still worked.
  • The same statements were repeated without exploring aspects.  It still worked.
  • She was not a willing candidate.  She was tapped on, only for few minutes on 3 different occasions.
  • She thinks EFT is silly.  It still worked.
  • She sang the affirmation part of the statement.  It is believed that singing activates the creative side of the brain and thus, is a great way to retrain the brain with fresh new information.

Happy to share this with you..

Warmly,

Jasmine Bharathan
