EFT on a case of extreme separation anxiety in a dog and the importance of Core Issues for Animals

Important Note: This article was written prior to 2010 and is now outdated. Please use my newest advancement, Optimal EFT. It is more efficient, more powerful and clearly explained in my free e-book, The Unseen Therapist™.  Best wishes, Gary

Hi Everyone,

Laila del Monte is a professional "animal communicator" and has developed a special ability to "talk" with animals mentally. Given this skill, she is able to discern core issues and excel in her EFT work with animals. This article is unique in that the core issue involved had a lot to do with the dog's owner.

Hugs, Gary

I got a call from Kim, because her dog, Bobby was suffering from terrible separation anxiety and she was distraught. He would wail, cry, bark and scratch if she went out and it had come to a point when he would go into total panic attack the minute she would put her coat on. Kim was literally a prisoner in her own home. She also felt extremely guilty about leaving him and therefore never went out. This had been going on for quite a while.

Otherwise, Bobby was a very sweet and affectionate dog. So I did a communication with Bobby. He gave me the usual reasons for his fear attacks which were fear of being alone, of silence, of being without her and all the physical symptoms along with it: heart beating,  hyper restlessness which translated as very fast pacing in circles, difficulty breathing, anxiety, extreme fear that would usually builds itself up to uncontrollable panic. After that, he would feel dizzy and weak and still alone.

But this time I didn’t do the usual EFT session I would normally do with a panic attack. This is because I also found out that there was an issue with Kim at age 5 and 14 that had to do with abandonment issues linked to her father. It translated into guilt and fear of committing to a relationship with a man. So actually, Bobby was doing a perfect job at keeping her home, guilt ridden and having no opportunity to meet a man! He was actually fulfilling her deepest wish and helping her in some strange loyal way.

So I asked Kim to think about all this and get back to me. She did a long introspection where she found the issues with her father corresponding to that age. We decided that she would leave Bobby at her parents for a week where I might add he behaved wonderfully! By then it was obvious that the panic attacks were linked to Kim. During that time we did a couple of sessions and I asked her to go out every evening. We worked through the guilt and the fear of committing to a relationship. The pattern became very clear to her and she was able to do EFT on herself.

After that Bobby came back to the home and I asked Kim to continue going out even for a short while. Then I did the basic EFT for separation anxiety on Bobby, tapping on the points in my mind:

Even though I don’t want Kim to go out….

Even though I hate when she leaves me…

Even though I’m miserable and scared when she leaves…

Even though I know it’s going to come to it the minute she thinks about going…

Even though I have to hang on to all her thoughts to make sure she’s not thinking of going…

Even though I hate being alone and will do anything to keep her home…

Even though I’m terrified of the silence when she’s not there…

Even though I’m terrified of the emptiness when she’s not there…

Even though I need her to be with me no matter what…

Even though I know it upsets her when I cry and fuss but I don’t care because I don’t want her to go…

Even though I know she feels guilty and I like that and it makes me feel a bit guilty because of that but I still prefer that then her going away…

Even though I know she’ll come back but what if she doesn’t and I still hate being alone without her…

After that Kim sent me a message saying that things were much better. Bobby was still acting up a little bit but it was no big deal; she was going out now without feeling guilty. I hope and know she will find the beautiful relationship and happiness she is entitled to.

I wrote this article because in many cases with animals, simply doing EFT on the animal is not enough and that is why many times there are no results. In all the cases I have done as an animal communicator I have found that most of the behavioral issues and illnesses (yes, cancer too) are linked to unresolved issues in the person.  I’m not saying all of them. Some are from past traumas, genetic disorders or in the case of physical illnesses environment, genetics, food or vaccine related, failing of the physical body and dare I say, simply destiny.

Nevertheless, it’s very interesting to see that cats will urinate, horses will buck, dogs will bark chew or bite, and birds will tear out their feathers or nip you on the nose… all to bring out the deep, hidden emotions of the person. Why do they do that? I have no idea. Especially as it usually drives the person crazy; maybe that’s the whole point. Who knows? The mysteries of Nature…

As for finding out the information about the person, most animals will not tell that to an animal communicator so I suppose it would fall in the category of psychic abilities.  But I want to stress that it is not necessary to be psychic or intuitive to find out the childhood issues or ages when things happened that would be causing a behavioral issue in your animal. The first step is thinking : Why is my animal doing this? Then Trying EFT surrogate on the animal. If that doesn’t work asking oneself: could this be related to me or something going on in my life? Introspection, asking oneself questions and some sincere digging is plenty, sometimes just sitting in silence and asking to understand.
