Hi Everyone,

Jaqui Davis from the UK helps a friend with an intense fear of cats. As the case unfolds, however, a specific event and another core issue show up. This case shows how good detective work can make a big EFT difference.

Hello there Gary,

I had a wonderful EFT experience the other day. A friend, Sandy, came to have an 'Aqua Detox' session and she was sitting with her feet in the water and talking about her daughter who has 'ankylosing spondylitis'. I asked how long she had had it and had there been a particular incident which had triggered it? As there had been, I suggested I may be able to help with EFT. She didn't think so as her daughter had tried lots of natural therapies and nothing had worked. "What is it anyway" she asked.

I told Sandy what EFT was but she was not convinced. I found out she had a 'fear of cats' so I said we could try and help that, then she would understand EFT more and be able to tell her daughter.

So we started with her 'fear of cats' which she said rated at 1,000. We didn't get anywhere with that, she said if a cat came in the room she would be out of the door! Could she relate it to a specific incident? Yes. She was 18 at university and she had gone to see a friend, and had to go in a doorway where it was dark, she was feeling for the light switch when a cat wrapped itself round her legs. She felt it was 'menacing' and 'evil', so we worked on those words and had a bit if success.

She didn't like it touching her and - "I DON'T LIKE PEOPLE TOUCHING ME".

"OK, do you mind if I just diversify a bit? Is there a specific incident that made you feel you didn't want to be touched?" I asked.

She came back very quickly with the answer - yes, she was at Lourdes and, after taking a bath, the attendant came to help her get dressed and put her arms around her from behind, in what Sandy considered 'an inappropriate way'. She used the words 'abused', and 'guilty' that she had not reported this incident to bring it to the attention of the authorities. We worked on these words, the tears came and the sighs started. Great, we were getting somewhere.

OK - back to 'fear of cats' - suddenly we were getting results here too. She was already in a state of 'fear in the dark' before the cat wrapped itself round her, so we worked on this.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, by the time Sandy left she was of the opinion that, if there was a cat in the room, she would be happy so long as it did not invade her space. Her whole demeanour had changed. I was hoping next door's cat would walk across her path on leaving, but it was nowhere to be seen!

I saw Sandy a couple of days later and she said she had actually seen a cat nearby and she was almost thinking she could go over to it, when it disappeared. She had told her daughter that it looks as if this EFT thing works and, if it does, she wants her to see me.

I had an email from Sandy yesterday to say "Guess what, I stroked a cat today, how about that?" MAGIC !!!

So now I am waiting to make an appointment to help her daughter with 'ankylosing spondylitis' !!

Bye for now.
