Hi Everyone,

Please pay particular attention to this contribution by Sandi Radomski. Sandi is a seasoned pro at these procedures and has been using them almost from the beginning. She shares with us some rapid relief experienced by children--some of it done through intentional tapping (i.e. tapping via imagination only).

Hugs, Gary

Dear Gary,

I have several examples of using EFT with children in non-clinical settings.

In the first example, I was at the ice skating rink with my daughter when one of the other competitive ice skaters (ten years old) started to have an asthma attack. Her mother was giving her her usual inhalers to no avail. Her color was off, her breathing was very labored, her eyes were glazed and she was beginning to get agitated. There were at least 20 to 30 people standing around watching. Since I didn't want to impose, I began to do intentional EFT .

I put my intention on specific points and began doing the sequence. In just a few moments the girl's mother turned to me and asked if there was anything I could do to help. I immediately began to tap the reversal point on the side of the hand (karate chop point) saying "Even though you are having difficulty breathing, you deeply and profoundly accept yourself." I then began tapping the EFT points saying "difficulty breathing" at each point. After each round I returned to the reversal point saying "Even though you still have some difficulty breathing, you deeply and profoundly accept yourself." I then continued tapping. I went through the cycle between 5 to 8 times. At first she was almost unaware of what I was doing since she was so distressed. Then she seemed to calm and her breathing and color returned to normal.

Her mother and her were absolutely amazed with how rapidly she returned to normal. Her mother reported that she responded to the EFT more quickly than if she had had an injection in the Emergency Room.

The second example took place backstage of dance recital in which both my daughter and I were performing. One of the teenagers twisted her ankle in her first number and was complaining of a great deal of pain. She had another number to do and was unsure whether she could do it. The owner of the dance studio felt she should not perform. I called my husband who is a chiropractor to examine it. As he was looking at her ankle, I noticed that she had an inhaler next to her. Somehow the inhaler made me guess that anxiety and fear was probably involved. I began doing intentional EFT focusing on the fear that she had hurt herself badly. I was behind her and no one knew what I was doing. After several rounds of imaging I was doing the tapping on her, she quickly started to change her ballet slippers and said "I guess I was just afraid that I had really hurt myself." She got up and easily completed her dance.

I hope these examples are helpful. I have also used EFT to help many children, mainly teenagers, to perform their skating routines.
