Magic buttons and no more fear of the hum-hum Monster

Hi Everyone,

Gratitude to Mellisa Dormoy for giving us this straightforward EFT example. Her 5 year old son was afraid of a "hum-hum monster" before going to sleep and Mellisa resolved the whole problem in minutes by tapping on his "magic buttons." The importance of the story is NOT that a childhood fear is resolved, because that is rather routine with EFT. Rather, it is the long term effect that is possible if parents use EFT on their children this way every night. Doing so will collapse many of the fears and insecurities that tend to follow them into adulthood. The result is longer term freedom - a priceless gift.

Hugs, Gary

Dear Gary,

I just had to share this story with you because once again, I am reminded of how we can help our children so easily with EFT for all kinds of difficulties.  Both my boys, ages 3 and 5, know and use EFT when they are upset.  We also tap in happiness and calm as I drive them to school everyday.

Damien, my five year old, told me tonight as I tucked him into bed that he was very afraid the hum-hum monster was going to get him (something from Baby Van Gogh/Baby Einstein turned sour!)  So I asked him if he wanted to tap on his magic buttons (this is how we refer to the points) to not be afraid anymore, he did.  We had already gone through the bubble of love which protects him, but that wasn’t getting it tonight.

So I gently took his hand and started tapping on his KC point and we repeated three times.

“Even though I’m afraid the hum-hum is going to get me, I’m a good boy and everything is going to be okay.”

Then we tapped the short cut points.  After one round I asked him to take a deep breath (something I have incorporated into my own EFT practice).  He did and said he felt better but still “a little scared” (as he put it).

We did one more round and I added, “I’m safe.”  After the second round he told me “Mommy, I’m better but let’s do it one more time and then I will be zero scared.”  We did an additional round, he gave me a big hug and kiss and said he was tired now and happy … “so happy it stretched all the way around the world!”  Then he rolled over, closed his eyes and went to sleep!

As a mom, I think teaching my children about EFT has been one of the best gifts I could ever have given them.  It’s so simple for them to tap their magic buttons that even my three year old is an expert!  Thank you and bless you for sharing this with us!

Warmly, Mellisa Dormoy EFT-ADV, CHt
