Hi Everyone,

Many interesting things happen during our popular EFT Borrowing Benefits procedure and this includes some positive side benefits. Baerbel Froehlin tells us how this worked for her.

Hi Gary!

While facilitating a group session, I Borrowed Benefits and was able to completely dissolve a block that kept me from being creative.

I used to be a Fibre artist before I became a hypnotherapist and, eventually, an EFT practitioner.  Creating tangible projects always was an important part of life for me.  I became a therapist after I was struck overnight with a disability, where I couldn't move my left arm.

After I nursed myself back to health with hypnosis, I then successfully reintegrated that essential creative part of me in my life and therapy business.  Often creativity brings out buried resources of a client in deep depression or after suffering traumatic experiences.  For myself it is crucial to spend enough time doing creative work.  It keeps me emotionally well balanced and happy.  It also keeps me from feeling burned out.

For a while recently I noticed that I felt stuck; no ideas, plans, pictures, no desire in my system to do my usual creative things.  I had deadlines to come up with creative ideas for the local media and felt real pressure.  I wanted to interest several reporters to cover a business event I am planning.  Nothing came to mind; nothing that reporters would jump on.  Fact is, they need to be 'fed' creatively so they become interested.

When I had an EFT group one night, I noticed that all participants were complaining about their jobs, their bosses, their spouses.  The key issue I was hearing over and over was how they set themselves up for failure constantly.  They always assumed that they would not succeed, that they never could live up to other people's expectations.

After we did a few rounds of EFT, all people in the group could trace back times when they heard and felt that they were not good enough to do anything right!  Everyone was in their fifties and had a long life of feeling inadequate.  Because group time was intense, I had to be very focused and tuned in to all of them.  I just fell into bed that night, exhausted.

The next day as I went through the usual things to do, I noticed that I was suddenly bursting with motivation.  I could hardly make notes fast enough; a thousand ideas were racing through my head.  I felt an enormous surge of creativity; it made me laugh out loud.  The block was gone.  All inhibitions that blocked me before were gone.  My mind was sharp and positive.  It took me three more days to realize that the group issues had been my own issues for most of my life.  Some leftover pieces had paralyzed me again!

As it turns out, during the group tapping, I had BORROWED BENEFITS big time and resolved my own problem.  Here are a few tapping phrases I used with the group:

Even though I'm just not good enough … Never will be … Can't even say I accept myself … Because I don't

Even though I can't do anything right … something is wrong with me … Always has been … always will be …

Even though others can do things well … I can't … And I don't accept myself the way I am!

Now here is the fun part: Because I felt so much depression and sadness from everybody in the group, so much inability to move forward, I used Carol Look's "What If?" procedure.  (Thanks so much, Carol!)  It was the first time for me to use this.  It turned things around quickly and really well.  We did phrases like these:

What if I COULD accept myself, no matter what?

What if I didn't care if I did things right or wrong?

What if I COULD be my own very best friend, loving myself and totally accepting me the way I am?

What if I'm capable of doing things right?

What if life could be rewarding and joyful for me?

What if I would not be afraid of anything and anybody anymore?

What if I could forgive myself for everything I didn't do good enough in the past?

What if I deserve to be supported in all my efforts, now and forever?

I now choose to protect and love myself as if I were my only child.  I trust I can do whatever is needed.

I choose to accept the fact that I am a good person, doing the best I can every day.

That's why I deeply and profoundly love, support, accept and protect myself all the way!

After this last round there were many smiles, sighs and yawning in the room.  All participants were down to zero!  Wonderful, magical EFT!

Love and big sighs to all!
