Hi Everyone,

Stammering can create major social limits and affect lives in multiple ways. Fortunately, EFT can be a material aid to this problem and thus point thousands in freer directions. John Blosse from the UK gives us his successful approach.

Hugs, Gary

By John Blosse

Hi Gary,

I have stammered for as long as I can remember. Although I did a fantastic speech course which really helped me but after a while I realised there were still issues from the past that I hadn't cleaned up. EFT has helped me deal with a lot of these issues.

Advice such as 'talking slower' doesn't really help when you're full of the fear of stammering. The way to get over a stammer is to become more assertive about your speech even when you do stammer. Realise that it's not the end of the world. The following are a few of the affirmations that helped me:

Even though I have this stammer and it holds me back I can choose to give it a hug.

Even though I have always seen my stammer as a monster it's really there for a reason and even if I don't know the reason why I'll give my monster a hug anyway.

Even though I have this stammer and am embarrassed by it because I don't speak as well as other people I choose to realise I can do some other things better than other people, nobody's perfect.

Since becoming an EFT therapist I have found that tapping on acknowledging my stammer and giving the stammering monster a hug has really helped me.

I feel that my stammer has been a blessing in some ways because it has allowed me to empathize better with other people. I feel my speech has benefitted so much from EFT when using the method on memories and negative beliefs.

GC COMMENT: I'm glad EFT was used on memories in this case. If those memories were SPECIFIC EVENTS the chances increase for a deeper, more lasting benefit.

It has given me a lot more confidence and has definitely made me a better therapist.

All the best,

John
