Hi Everyone,

Notice how Kathryn Etheridge cleverly uses EFT and an injured fly to help her 3 year old daughter with a fear.

Hugs, Gary

By Kathryn Etheridge

This morning, my daughter who is almost 3 years old saw a little fly on the floor.  It was half alive, moving its little legs around and barely moving.  Molly has been very nervous about bugs, worms, tiny insects "getting" her for a few months.  Today I thought it would be a good opportunity to use EFT for this fear, while we could test the results and she could think of it as we tapped.

As we watched this little fly on the floor, I tapped on her and just talked with her about being scared of the bug, the whole time with her watching the fly.  She kept talking of it "getting" her, so we tapped about that and being scared of it and scared that the fly would bite her.

I tested her by moving my finger closer to the fly as we continued to tap; the first time, she got really nervous so I moved my hand away.  Gradually I was able to touch the fly and then hold it in my hand for her to inspect.  She got restless so I tapped on myself surrogately for her while we talked for about half the time.  She ended up inspecting the fly very closely in my hand and was very interested in seeing the "butterfly" wings and legs.  She even said, "Cute."

I wasn't able to get her to hold the fly and she said "gross" (although I wonder if she really knows what that means), but I'm happy I helped her as much as I could in about five minutes of tapping! I'm confident it will help her when she’s playing outside so much in the next few months with many little insects flying about.
